Pak Omar Nasi Lemak Kukus Champion @ Publika

Pak Omar Nasi Lemak Kukus Champion @ Publika

Fancy having some Nasi Lemak from Pak Omar Nasi Lemak Kukus Champion over at Publika? From my understanding they have won awards, being champions in the nasi lemak kukus scene since 2013, so that’s probably a really good reason to try this new eatery in town. Located at Block A1, Publika at Solaris Dutamas, it’s not hard to locate, look for the restaurant with lots of green and many nasi lemak pictures on their walls. Read on.

We were there for the official launch of the Pak Omar Nasi Lemak Kukus Champion outlet at Publika, and it was a successful launch, complete with lots and lots of plates of food, and everything they have on their menu. Did you know Pak Omar is a Chinese Muslim, where he serves really good Nasi Lemak and condiments since 2013. Check out what we had that afternoon.

Nasi Lemak Jumbo

Three portions of everything! Not for the faint hearted
Three portions of everything! Not for the faint hearted

A portion made for sharing. Yes, don’t attempt to finish the Nasi Lemak Jumbo all by yourself, as its meant to be shared by 3 to 4 people. Three portions of rice, spiced chicken, sambal sotong, rendang kambing, and sayur kangkung, make up this huge dish! Is it worth the price of RM39.90? Well, if you’re sharing it, then definitely! The rice is just so fragrant and soft, and the ingredients inside are really, very tasty. My first impression of Pak Omar’s Nasi Lemak is a good one.

Nasi Lemak Kukus Ayam Goreng Berempah

Other than the huge Nasi Lemak Jumbo, we tried out their Nasi Lemak Kukus Ayam Goreng Berempah, with one serving of rice, and a tantalising fried chicken in the middle of it all. What makes a good Nasi Lemak has to be its sambal, thankfully here, Pak Omar hit all the right notes!

Thumbs up, I'm holding up the Nasi Lemak Kukus Ayam Goreng Berempah - RM15.90

Nasi Lemak Rendang Kambing & Nasi Lemak Sambal Sotong

Other similar iterations of the Nasi Lemak would be the Nasi Lemak Rendang Kambing with tasty, tender melt in your mouth lamb rendang, and the Nasi Lemak Sambal Sotong with spicy squid to satisfy your cravings. Tasty indulgence indeed.

Don’t Forget To Try Their Sambal Goreng Petai, & Sambal Goreng Bendi!

Yes, I totally recommend their Sambal Goreng Petai, & Sambal Goreng Bendi, served in these plates filled to the brim with my favourite veggies. Take note it can get rather spicy, but the taste is just too awesome!

ON top of that you could try out their large Karipaps (3 for RM10) as well, or if you want a noodle dish, then the Mee Siam Rendang Kambing is for you. All these can get quite filling, so be sure to choose wisely what you plan to have before ordering!

  2. "What makes a good Nasi Lemak has to be its sambal..." I beg to disagree! The rice has to be really lemak, rich with the fragrance and taste of santan, otherwise it should not be called nasi lemak. Call it nasi sambal instead.
