Holiday Villa Beach Resort & Spa Langkawi

A month back, I was lucky enough to win a 2 days 1 night deluxe room stay over in Holiday Villa Langkawi. Do check the post "Won a 2D1N Holiday In Holiday Villa Langkawi" if you haven't yet. A couple of weeks passed and suddenly I found myself going on a flight to Langkawi for a weekend getaway. Our plane landed in langkawi at around 2pm, just in time to check in at Holiday Villa.

Of course, my trip to Langkawi was spent outdoors majority of the time, hence I did not manage to stick around much at the hotel. However, there are a couple of photos I managed to capture of the hotel as below.

The surroundings of Holiday Villa Langkawi were filled with greenery, from trees to well maintained grass lawns.  It does give a rather authentic beach resort feel to the whole area.  The rooms were all located on the 1st and 2nd storey of the resort. There were no high rise buildings in the area, hence the "villa" like atmosphere.

Our package included a night's stay in a deluxe room. I had no major complaints on the room as it was both spacious and rather comfortable with the aircond, lcd tv and all. One thing though, I was surprised they gave me 2 single beds instead of a king or queen sized double beds. A quick call to the reception, and I was told they ran out of rooms with these beds.

Oh well, it wasn't a big issue for me though, but one thing that irked me was the fact that no drinking water were provided. No bottled mineral water, no water cooler to fill up with water, I even went down to the reception to enquire, and was told that the hotel does not provide mineral bottled water in the rooms. Goodness, even the budget hotels in KL have 2 mineral bottles of drinking water in each room. I wasn't really pleased that time.

One good thing to note though, the hotel has a beach front. As such, we could just walk out to enjoy the beach and feel those sand on our feet while watching the waves wash to shore. I've always loved beach resorts for this reason. The hotel facilities were pretty standard, with a spa, gym, internet room, a bar with pool tables, and this cute large sized chess set. Do check it out below!

My partner deep in thought.. she beat me by the way.

Check in time for Holiday Villa Langkawi was 2pm, and check out time would be 12pm. Overall, I would say it was a pleasant stay. Location wise, the hotel was situated right at the Cenang Beach which was a short 8 mins drive from the Langkawi Airport. Kuah town was a distance away though, so you're advised to rent a car for the duration of the stay to be able to go from one place to the other to enjoy all the attractions Langkawi has to offer.

  1. I realized they like to have this huge chess sets in their recreational area. I saw something similar in Bali, just that it was life like and three-quarters of my height.

  3. I saw a similar chess set in Hotel Karambunai, Kota Kinabalu. It was outdoors beside the pool or the beach. I can't remember. I don't think I played with it though.
