Rockaway Grill and Bar @ Changkat Bukit Bintang
Now I’ve always been a big fan of meaty dishes, steak, lamb and the likes. Always on the look out for a good place to dine, just recently I was introduced to
Rockaway Grill and Bar @ Changkat Bukit Bintang. Invited by
Foodilifecious, I didn’t hesitate to head there on a week day evening, as I was told they serve some really good and generous servings of meat. The location itself is smack right in the middle of Bukit Bintang, where there’s lots of people and foot traffic around. Check out what we had that evening.

Dimly lit, the ambiance gave out that wild wild west feeling, complete with wood log walls, barrel tables, and cowboy graffiti. At first glance, one could mistakenly take Rockaway as just another “watering hole”, for those who want to unwind after a long day at work. Little did we know they serve some really nice food as well!

American sized portions, you can be sure everything on the menu comes in a hearty and large serving. Good to share, or if you’re one who loves himself a giant portion, then by all means take it in yourself. I was surprised to find out everything is priced below RM100 even the really huge meat platter. Anyway let’s not jump the gun, move on to the first dish shall we?

Greybull Smoked Spare Ribs & Scottbluff Smoked Veal Wild Hogs
Straight to the good stuff! The Greybull Smoked Spare Ribs came on a huge platter, being super thick and big. The slab of spare ribs looks really appetising especially since it is glistening with the sauce over it. Good stuff, I didn’t know they could make it so that the meat was so tender, literally falling off the bone. Tender, and succulent, these two words best described these spare ribs.

Greybull Smoked Spare Ribs - RM95

If you’re in the mood for more meat, go for the lean, less fatty wild boar rib, aptly named the Scottbluff Smoked Veal Wild Hogs by Rockaway. You have a choice for your ribs to be served in original bbq sauce, Hellfire XXL sauce, black pepper sauce, Hickory red wine sauce or garlic capers butter sauce.

Laramie Whole Slab Ribs (Pork) - RM90 |
Wichita Lamb Steak
Served on a hot stone, the Wichita Lamb Steak came sizzling hot, and you could even cook it to your liking on the spot as the hot stone stays very hot for quite some time. Of course, it would be wise to request the chef to serve the lamb steak done rare, as by the time you get around to biting into the tender steak, it would have cooked slightly on the hot plate itself. Sizzle sizzle!

Rockaway Special Tapas Platter
Up next, this Rockaway Special Tapas Platter is definitely meant to be shared. You cannot finish the whole platter by yourself, even if you tried! From sausages, to bacon, nuggets and more ribs, there’s even calamari, and porky goodness to be had! I love the selection of tapas all in one place!

Don’t Forget The Drinks
Any good food would do well to be paired with some delectable drinks. At Rockaway, they serve everything from cocktail, cocktails, to beers and any concoction you can find off their menu. We tried some of their cocktails, and it went really well with the meat that we feasted on that evening.

Yums! |
Throughout the night, we dined on a selection of different mains as well, from pizzas, fish, pasta and hamburgers. A special mention has to be done for the Panko Crusted Cod Fish, as we’ll as the pizza and pasta. Love how the cod fish had this yummy crust over it.

Lincoln & Washington Hamburgers
Large hamburgers, now that’s an understatement. They were more giant than large, 1/2 a kilo of well seasoned patty each. Introducing the Lincoln & Washington Hamburgers, where one had so much cheese coating the patty I felt so guilty indulging in this sinful dish. It was superbly tasty though!
