Better late than never yes? I know I’m a couple of weeks late into the season for beer drinking and all, but hey, the festivities are still ON! Just recently, I was at one of The Great Brew Fest 2018 festivals, over at Souled Out Sri Hartamas, and it was an awesome experience. Not only did I get to experience beer in a whole different way, I had the chance to witness the introduction of the limited release festival beer, Tiger Amber Lager. Read on below!

Know Your Brew - The Great Brew Fest 2018

From 1st October until 10th November, The Great Brew Fest is happening nationwide at all participating outlets. What’s it all about?

For starters, it’s a nationwide celebration of great quality brews and craftsmanship, where beer enthusiasts and social drinkers get to enjoy fantastic promotions on HEINEKEN Malaysia’s portfolio of premium international beers, stouts and ciders.

During the month of October, lots of folks like myself are always on the look out for great looking beer mugs, and these are simply superb! The “brew inspired art” limited edition designer mugs is created by HEINEKEN Malaysia in collaboration with some of Malaysia’s most talented and renowned artists: CLOAKWORK, Kenji Chai, Beautiful Machines featuring Sling, Jarold Sng and Lynda (Pink Tattoos). You have to hold one in your hands to appreciate these beauties.

My Perfect Pint Experience

While at the event, I had the chance to try for myself to experience pouring my perfect pint of beer. It isn’t as easy as it looks, mind you, but I did get the hang of it after a couple of tries. Pouring the beers, we got to choose our favourite brands. I chose Paulaner, as it is a rather fitting beverage for the occasion.

Introducing the First Locally Brewed Amber Lager 

Don’t play play, after all those years of beer celebrations, this is my first time to experience the limited release festival beer, a Tiger Amber Lager, exclusively brewed for The Great Brew Fest. A 5% ABV beer, I personally loved the taste, a refreshing full flavour lager, with a slight hint of malty sweetness and after taste aroma. Pretty awesome stuff I tell you.
