EATROPICA Cafe @ Menara 1 Sentrum, Nu Sentral Kuala Lumpur

Serving a varied choice of food and drinks, EATROPICA is this new eating place located in the heart of KL Central, at Menara 1 Sentrum, Nu Sentral to be exact. The cafe looked really spacious, with very high ceiling and comfy decor, its location is a plus point, as most office workers working in Menara 1 Sentrum will see it every time they come out of the lift lobby. Check out what we had that day at EATROPICA Cafe, below.

Upon arrival at the chic looking cafe, I was impressed by the vast space it occupies. Airy and brightly coloured, they serve a mix of Western and Asian cuisine. From healthy keto-diet friendly dishes, to noodles, salads, they even serve meal sets for those looking to dine there. Have your breakfast, lunch or dinner here, Eatropica have dishes to cater for all timings.

Asian Cuisine

Curry Laksa, an all-time local favourite, done just right by Eatropica. For the price they charge, the serving size is huge! The dish that was served that afternoon had generous amounts of noodles inside, complete with chicken slices, long beans, cockles and my favourite tau foo pok. Bear in mind this is a pork free establishment, so no pork in this dish. Love the flavours of the soup, where we could taste the rich coconut milk flavours inside. Available for lunch from 12-3pm, for RM15, you’ll get a complimentary drink of ice lemon tea or lemonade.

Up next, we had the Classic Nasi Lemak With Chicken Rendang & Traditional Condiments. Unsurprisingly, the dish was yet another big one, overflowing with good stuff. The sambal was good, a very important criteria in any Nasi Lemak offering. The Chicken Rendang went well with the rice too. Again, this is available for lunch from 12-3pm, with a complimentary drink of ice lemon tea or lemonade.

Bring Forth the Western Cuisine!

My all-time favourite steak dish is available here at Eatropica as well, the Grain Fed Sirloin Steak, all 250gms of it. We did not just have the beef steak, we also tried the tuna steak, which tasted great! Served with sides of watercress salad, salsa verde and sweet potato wedges, do try them out yourself when you dine here.

I’m loving my steak, a 250 grams solid piece of Australian beef aged for 21 days. chargrilled to perfection. Of course, if you’re not a beef taker, go for the Maguro Tuna Steak which is pretty light, but filling all the same. Pan fried with Wasabi Aioli, the 180 grams of tuna went well with my tastebuds.

Penne Carbonara

I love my carbonara thick and full of flavours, which was exactly what Penne Carbonara’s all about. A hearty plate of pasta dish, it comes with generous servings of Turkey bacon and lots of Parmesan cheese. Rich and creamy, I would definitely recommend this dish for those who love their Carbonara thick.

One of my makan kaki ordered the very filling Melting Moroccan Lamb Shank. Be sure to share this, as it is a rather big dish. The texture was really soft and tender, good for lamb shank lovers. Western cuisines are available from 12 noon to 3pm, which comes with a free drink of ice lemon tea or lemonade.

Eatropica Set Meals (Available from 12pm to 8pm)

Burgers and lambs, these were the two dishes we savoured that day, part of the Eatropica Set Meals. First we had the Pulled Lamb Burger, which consists of lots of pulled lamb topped with feta cheese. Good stuff, if you love your lamb tasting really strong aka gamey. I find it pretty okay for my tastebuds, just a tad too soft. Up next we had the Tsatziki Relish Burger, served with salad and fries.

Lots of good stuff here. I'm enjoying my freshly made Carrot Juice

While you’re dining at Eastropica, don’t forget to savour their delectable sweet desserts. We tried three off their menu, the Sticky Dates Pudding With Butterscotch Sauce & Vanilla Ice Cream, Matcha Magic Chia Seed With Almond Pudding Topped With Whipped Cream and Crispy Crisp Banana Fritters With Palm Sugar Syrup & Vanilla Ice Cream.

I do like deep fried bananas, hence took a special liking for the crispy banana fritters. The accompanied palm sugar syrup is pretty sweet though, so watch out, don’t pour on TOO much! The next time you’re in the vicinity of Nu Central, don’t forget to check out EATROPICA Cafe @ Menara 1 Sentrum. Remember, they are located on the 6th floor of Menara 1 Sentrum, so don’t get lost finding your way there!
