Did you know?

Cincin comes from the Italian word “Cheers”. However, when said in the Malaysian context, cincin can also mean ring. Throughout the night, when we toasted to our good health and such, we pronounced out “cincin” when clinking our wine glasses instead of the customary “cheers!” Having premium wine and fine Western cuisine has never felt so good.

Here at Cincin, they are serious over their wine selections, holding a wide variety and selection of wines from Wine2u for us to choose from. In fact, get it here for a lower price, where you can bring it home, drink it here, or bring it along for your next visit to Cincin. We were given good recommendations on wine that night, pairing really well with the good food!

Let the festivities begin!

It was a five course dinner, from salad starters, to soup and mains, finishing off with sweet dessert. We paired the food with wine, lightly wood-aged white wine to start off the night. Good deal indeed.

What an interesting soup, a tad on the salty side, but very flavourful. We had the Clear Soup with Truffle Oil. There’s a strong hint of truffle oil inside which makes it tasty. We kick started our meal with the soup and Caesar Salad paired with white wine.

Grilled Portobello Mushroom with Bacon and Cheese

Ah, I love how juicy these Portobello Mushrooms tastes! The texture is heavenly, juicy grilled portobello mushrooms served on a wooden platter topped with lots of bacon bits and cheese. Literally bursting with flavours and juices, I love this dish. Goes well with wine for sure!

Poached Salmon in White Wine Broth

Fish lovers would approve of the Poached Salmon in White Wine Broth from Cincin. The salmon is lightly poached in wine broth, with a subtle mild overall taste. The salmon is really fresh, perfect for dishes like this. Paired with white wine, the flavours were accentuated and emphasised on our tongue after sipping the wine.

Yes please! Our next course was the Grilled Lamb Rack in Red Wine Rosemary Sauce. I felt like a caveman then, literally grabbing one piece by the bone and munching on it. But of course, if you’re with company, it is wise to use the cutleries provided. The grilled lamb went perfectly with the Spanish red wine. Good stuff, and combination!

Always room for dessert, that’s what I tell my friends all the time. Two desserts were presented to us, one a rather unique flavoured Hojicha Creme Brulee, and the other one was a beautiful “Ballerina”. You must try these two, to really appreciate the effort gone into preparing these dessert. I personally love the Hojicha Creme Brulee, and the “Ballerina” was great as well.

The Surprise!

Guess what, we had a surprise after dinner! All November and December born friends were invited to the front for a cake cutting ceremony. Oh wow, I was elated, as I’m a December baby myself.

  1. Oh? And initially I thought it is "cincin" as in Malay for "ring".
