The Point Restaurant & Bar KL Launches Wine Bar
It's not my first time dining over at
The Point Restaurant & Bar KL , but this time I was there to savour their wine as they combine two different concepts under one roof. They serve good modern creative Asian & European dishes using fine ingredients in a casual dining environment. We were introduced to their Wine Bar, which showcases over 350 wine labels of an extensive selection of both new world and old world wines.

Found this very interesting corner in The Point Restaurant & Bar KL |

All the wine we savoured that wonderful evening |
The Point Restaurant & Bar KL had dedicated Liebherr Barrique wine chillers to ensure consistent temperature and humidity control at all times. Paying tribute to wine, the selection of wines emphasizes some of the best vineyards, terroir, vintages and wine producers from each region. I'm mighty impressed by how the collection is stored, each chiller is adjusted depending on wines stored in them, thus wines can be served at the optimum temperature every time.

This was the welcome drink at the start of our meal - Pierre Peters Cuvee de Resrve Grand Cru |

Wine corks |

The star for the night, at least to me, Château Carbonnieux 1971 |
Bring forth the food!
 |
Truffled Cold Angel Hair |
The Point uses elegant glassware from Gabriel-Glas©; glassware that concentrates the bouquet of the wine regardless of white, red or sweet wines. Having wine with this signature crowd favorite Truffled Cold Angel Hair is superb! Tasty indeed.

Strozzapreti Short Rib Pasta |
 |
Paul Jaboulet Aîné, Gigondas Pierre Aiguille 1998 |
 |
San Giusto a Rentennano, Le Baroncole, Chianti Classico 2000 |
Good stuff, I had the Strozzapreti Short Rib Pasta which went absolutely well with the wine suggestion by the good folks from The Point. The meat was tender, and the wine brought out the flavours really well.

Interesting dish to pair with, Perchick |
 |
Château Chasse-Spleen 2009 |
A rather interesting dish, very Malaysian if you ask me, the Perchick dish is essentially "ayam perchik" fine-dine styled. The Point KL was recently awarded the Award of Excellence from the acclaimed Wine Spectator Restaurant Award. Only 7 restaurants in Malaysia has receive this award in 2017. Wine Spectator magazine has been regarded as most read widely, and the most influential Wine magazine in the world.

It was a good night at The Point Restaurant & Bar KL |
To further cultivate this reputation, The Point introduced a non-membership wine club open to the public which organizes tastings once a month, using only ISO tasting glasses; The TP Wine Club. The event about wine and wine only sees guest speakers leading a more in-depth wine tasting occasion, to educate and promote special vintages as well as to introduce some of the world’s most renowned wine makers and vintages.
I like how they twirl the angel hair into a bun like that. I would love to try doing it the next time I have that.
