Maria's Steak Cafe @ Bangsar

Maria's Steak Cafe @ Bangsar

Ever since I tried Maria's Steak Cafe many years back at Damansara Perdana, I have always recommended fellow friends to dine there if they are looking for a wholesome slab of beautifully done steak. This time around, I had the opportunity to check out their other outlet in Bangsar, and I must say, it's still GOOD!

Nothing Fancy, Simply Good Food, that's the theme and I guess they hit it perfectly. A simple restaurant serving some of the nicest western cuisine I've had in a while. I couldn't wait to try out my favourite dish there, the wagyu beef. Let's go through what we had that afternoon at Maria's Steak Cafe shall we?

A western steakhouse, Maria's Steak Cafe has its roots from Ipoh, the owners make it a point to serve only the freshest quality meet for its diners ensuring the best possible taste and flavours. A causal family oriented restaurant, I love the ambiance, with lots of wood accents, good for family dining or for that special date with your special someone.

Kicking off our meal at Maria's Steak Cafe, we tried out their very special Oriental Salad. A salad full of Asian flavours and influence, it's topped with yummy shiitake mushrooms and bonito flakes. Love how the Japanese-inspired sesame dressing tasted when tossed with the green vegetables. It's indeed refreshing with the slightly tangy sourish taste.

Soup - Wild Mushroom Soup & Pumpkin Soup

Thick flavourful soup were brought out next. We had Maria's Steak Cafe's wonderfully rich Wild Mushroom Soup & Pumpkin Soup. Not bad at all, the wild mushroom soup has a generous servings of Shitake and button mushrooms, thickened with white cream. Lots of texture, tasty flavours. Only fresh pumpkins were used for the pumpkin soup and it shows with each mouthful taken.

Main Course - Australian Wagyu 7

Maria's specialty dish would be their Australian Wagyu 7 Steak which I had as my main that day. Oh wow, it was indeed love at first bite. Grilled to perfect tenderness & flavor, no sauce is needed, just cut and pop that meaty goodness in the mouth.

The marble grade of 7 was really good, all 200 gms of it. Cooked using a simple marinade of black pepper, salt and red wine, the natural flavours of the beef really completed this specialty dish. Choose medium rare, and you're good to go! One of the must-have dish at Maria's Steak Cafe, highly recommended.

N.Z. Lamb Cutlet

If beef is not your thing, then go for the next best thing, lamb cutlets! Maria's Steak Cafe serve really awesome N.Z Baby Cutlets too. Served with mint sauce on the side, you get 3 chunks of cutlets, marinated really well, cooked to perfection. The fats were a delight to have. Yes, it's that good! Meat lovers will do good to choose this dish as their mains.

Desssert - Tiramisu & Moist Chocolate Cake

Like I always say, there will always be room for dessert no matter how heavy our meal is. Here at Maria's Steak Cafe I do recommend trying out their Tiramisu and Moist Chocolate Cake. The Tiramisu is created with mascarpone cheese, lady fingers, espresso shots & rum. A delight to have. The Moist Chocolate Cake is a nice sweet end to a good meal out too, brought out warm & moist, served with premium vanilla ice cream.

Remember to drop by Maria's Steak Cafe @ Bangsar the next time you have a craving for some great meat and western cuisine. They have branches at Damansara Perdana and even at Ipoh too. Hey, if you're going, do remember to say my name "Isaac Tan" and you will be rewarded with a 10% off of your total bill when dining at Maria's Steak Cafe!
