Anmum Essential #WhatsInTheMilk - Growing Up Milk With No Added Sugars

Anmum Essential #WhatsInTheMilk

As parents, we always want the best for our kids. Their growing up milk makes up for an essential part of their daily diet, hence it's of utmost importance to get the best there is. What goes into their milk is important, but while shopping around for the best milk, have you ever thought to see the labels behind? What goes into the milk? Does it have too much sugar in it?

#WhatsInTheMilk ?

We all know too much sugar in our diet, even for grown-ups is not really healthy. The Malaysian Dietary Guidelines recommends people to consume foods and beverages that are low in sugar. To help you and your child out, children between 2-6 years old should consume not more than 3 teaspoons of added sugars. Based on these numbers, you can decide how much of this food goes onto your little one’s plate.

Read the Labels!

But how do you know if the milk you're buying for your kid has too much sugar added? Read through the labels! The nutrition information panel for the recommended serving size behind each packet of growing up milk will show you the information.

Could there really be added sugars in my child’s milk?

What are added sugars? Added sugars are types of sugars and syrups added to food and drinks when they're being processed or prepared. This doesn't include natural-occuring sugars such as those in milk and fruits. How then do we know if the milk we have chosen have added sugars inside? Well, for starters, did you know that lactose is a type of natural sugar that is found in milk and dairy products? So if you find lactose listed in the ingredients list (which should not!) , it is being added into the product!

Anmum No Added Sugar campaign

This brings us to the gist of this blog post, to introduce Anmum Essential's No Added Sugar campaign. Anmum Essential’s No Added Sugar campaign essentially utilizes the natural curiosity of a child to investigate what goes into the milk. It pushes moms to have a sense of childlike curiosity themselves and investigate what is in their child’s milk by encouraging them to read labels and identify added sugars in various forms. Check out the video embedded below!

So what do you think of Adam? He's one real curious kid isn't he? The video gives us a brief insight on what happens to children when they have too much sugar in their diet at the growing up stage and the dangers of hidden sugars. Anmum Essential is a growing up milk with no added sugars. This means no fillers and more added value to consumers, not to mention all the benefits a child gets from no added sugar in the milk.
