A Taste Of Vietnam @ Pho Street Restaurant, Paradigm Mall

Pho Street Restaurant, Paradigm Mall

Life's good, when you get to taste some really good Vietnamese cuisine at a really convenient venue, Paradigm Mall to be exact. Now I haven't had the chance to visit Vietnam yet, so it's nice to be able to sample what the beautiful country has to offer at Pho Street's first outlet in Malaysia, Pho Street Restaurant at Paradigm Mall. Fresh and vibrant flavours come to mind, so do check out what they have to offer.

From a hearty bowl of their iconic Pho, to a tasty Banh Mi sandwich, to street snacks and refreshing drinks, you can have it all if you wish to.

Executive Chef Ha Vi Cang Kent of Pho Street endeavours to ensure each dish served is as authentic as the one you would find in the streets of Vietnam. Bringing with him 13 years of experience, the menu for Pho Street is specially curated by his good self, and my, it's exceptionally good!

Fresh Summer Rolls

Goi Cuon, or Fresh Summer Rolls are the perfect appetizer start to any Vietnamese meal. We tried the Fresh Summer Rolls which comes with Prawn, Pork Belly & Fresh Herbs all rolled into one fresh compact little salad. The delicate sheet of rice paper makes all the difference. Remember to dip it into Pho Street's homemade peanut sauce before munching into the rolls. Good stuff.

Pho Noodles

An iconic dish from Vietnam, the flavourful Pho noodles is another must try, featuring a light yet flavourful broth, garnished with fresh Thai basil, bean sprouts and lime. The soup is served piping hot, going very well with a variety of selection which we can choose from. That afternoon, we went for the Pho Beef Combination, which consists of beef slices, balls, shank, tendons and tripe. Now that's a really meaty dish if you ask me.

Dry Rice Vermicelli with Roasted Pork Chop & Spring Roll

Now this is very new to me, the Dry Rice Vermicelli with Roasted Pork Chop & Spring Roll is another version of Vietnam's popular noodle dish. Aptly named Bun Thit Nuong which literally means 'grilled meat on noodles', here we had a refreshing bowl of rice vermicelli served with deep fried spring roll, with a choice of grilled beef, roasted lemongrass chicken or roasted pork chop in a zesty sauce. Love the flavours, shown in picture above was before they poured in the flavourful soup.

Banh Mi

My favourite, one which I will recommend to anyone dining at Pho Street would be the Banh Mi. A sandwich that reflects Vietnam's legacy of Chinese and French colonialism, the toasted baguette did wonders to its crunchy texture. Love it to the max, especially when it's filled up with my favourite ingredients, the roasted pork belly, grilled beef and chicken ham in the Pho Street combination version. Yum.

Roasted Lemongrass Chicken with Fragrant Rice

For those who must have their rice, then go for this delectable dish, Pho Street's Roasted Lemongrass Chicken with Fragrant Rice. Love how fragrant the lemongrass chicken smelt and tasted, doused in their special sauce, going really well with the fragrant rice. If chicken is not your thing, you can substitute it with beef stew, or roasted pork chop instead.

Vietnamese Street Snacks

There's a choice of some yummy Vietnamese Street Snacks too, to complement the main dishes, ranging from crispy fried pork rolls, crabcakes, roasted chicken skewers and the prawn paste grilled on sugarcane skewers. Lots to choose from, check them all out below!

Vietnamese rice crackers have a unique taste to it, going real well with the salad of Crunchy Green Mango, Prawns, Pork Belly and Crushed Peanuts. I personally loved the fragrant minced meat, that I totally finished the whole dish myself. It was just too good to share out.

Hue Prawn Sugarcane Skewers

The Hue Prawn Sugarcane Skewers were served skewered unto these sugar canes, something rather unique to me. One bite of the classic Vietnamese finger food Chao Tom Hue, the prawn paste really tasted good. Dip it into the sauce, and this can be a meal on its own!

  1. Paradigm Mall. I stayed at a cheap, small hotel in Kelana Jaya, the mall was right across the road...but I could not get across the highway to go there. So many cars, non-stop and all going so fast. Takut!

No (more) Vietnamese restaurant here, only the Thai ones. I would love to drop by here to enjoy this - if only some kind soul would take me there. Wink! Wink! LOL!!!
