OPENSNAP - An Application For Foodies
I've been to quite a number of restaurants, cafes and eateries lately, being an avid foodie, blogging about food reviews and all. Hence, it was with great interest when I heard that Openrice launched their mobile application, OPENSNAP, specifically catered for foodies, and those that love everything related to food.
The web version of OpenSnap |

Find western cuisines around Klang Valley here!
My profile on OPENSNAP, be sure to look out for me |
OpenSnap, is the mobile, more user-friendly version of Openrice. At least that was my first impression when I started using it. It's an online platform & app designed to enable users to upload foodie pics & search nearby restaurants for good food, as well as leave their own reviews and ratings. That's what I like best about OpenSnap, being able to upload quick pictures and reviews to help others locate good food everywhere!
Download OpenSnap from the iOS app store, or Google Play Store |
I'm ashamed to admit I've only started using this application recently, but my my, I tell you, OpenSnap is so complete. In fact with their additional features and enhancement, I find it hard not to recommend it to everyone I know, hence this blog post to promote the application. The app is available in most major cities & districts in Asia, so it will definately be helpful even when we travel overseas.
Various functions and features are available |
Hailing from Penang myself, I'm excited to find out that the application is able to personalize contents to your location. When I'm back at my hometown, switching on the application is easy, where it will point out to me the best spots to dine at, be it restaurants, cafe or street food. Good stuff.
Searching using the app is easy |
The application itself is easy to navigate and use. I was concerned searching up my favourite food spots will be a hassle, but that proved to be a misconception, as the search option within the app was so user friendly. Just input any dish, restaurant, or hashtags you may find related to what you're looking for and you're on your way.
Did a quick search for SOULed OUT |
Just to show you how easy it is, and the simplicity of the interface, I searched up my favourite hangout spot in town, SOULed OUT. There's the option to bookmark our favourite restaurants, making life so much easier. You can see both restaurants in the area, and the ones your friends have posted about. Also available are recommendations of areas nearby.
One of my many review contribution to OpenSnap |
Inside the OpenSnap application , there's the option to check out editor's picks and newly opened restaurants as well. One thing I found to be very innovative would be the "Nearby" and "View on map" feature, which really comes in handy if we are in strange new territories. Exploring the Klang Valley for good food has never been easier.
Follow me on OpenSnap if you haven't yet! |
So what are you waiting for? If you love food, no matter its fine dining cuisine, or street food, you must download OpenSnap to be able to get updated and easily located the nearest yummy noms near you. You can check out recommendations & articles from OpenRice on OpenSnap while you're at it too.
I have downloaded this application into my hp. I'll explore it more later. :)
