Baby Martin's First Time In The Swimming Pool

Now it has been a while since I last blogged on Baby Martin, and with the new baby, Baby Karlson (Birth Of Baby Karlson @ Bagan Specialist Centre Butterworth) in the picture, life has been really busy juggling between them. Anyway, this post will be one to update on Baby Martin's first time dipping into the swimming pool when we were back in Penang a couple of months back.

Baby Martin only learnt how to walk without any aide, and on his own two feet recently, at around 17 months. He is now 19 months and happily walking around the house albeit unsteadily. During his dip into the swimming pool, he has yet to learn how to walk, hence I had to hold him while he floats around in these bright orange coloured Ogival floats.

I've read up about newborns getting acquainted with the water, so this dip shouldn't be a problem for Baby Martin who was at around 14 months old that time. In fact, he was pretty excited with the new orange float which he considers a new toy. I huffed and puffed to get it inflated, but it was all worth it.

Getting into the pool was simple enough, and I was pretty happy Martin did not have any fear of the water. In fact, bathing is his favourite daily activity so it is no surprise that he beamed and smiled while wading through the pool with me holding him. Ah, another milestone, I've got to blog about this, I thought to myself then.

Overall it was a wonderful experience, both for us as parents, as well as Baby Martin who I believe truly enjoyed himself. Now that he can walk on his own, I'm looking forward to bringing him to swim again. For now, do check out a short video of us wading and 'walking' through the baby's pool, which I recorded down for memory's sake.

  5. Thanks for your post. I’ve been thinking about writing a very comparable post over the last couple of weeks, I’ll probably keep it short and sweet and link to this instead if thats cool. Thanks. horseshoe bay custom pool builder
