A bird's eye view from the first floor of Porcelene Jazz |
Braving the rainy weather and heavy traffic to reach Porcelene Jazz in Empire Damansara, I was pretty pleased with the whole decor and setup of the restaurant. Introducing itself as the spot for food, being a bar and lounge too, Porcelene aims to please its patrons with nice live band music and good food.
Pretty ladies welcoming us to the media launch |
We were brought around the restaurant, comprising of three floors, each having a different theme to it. The logo itself was really cute, depicting a blue pigeon playing the saxophone. The night kicked off with some scrumptious offerings by Porcelene, with white and red wine too, to pair with the food. Check out the below on some of the food I managed to snap.
NYC Short Ribs |
The NYC short ribs were served buffet style, meaning I could take as many servings as I wanted, a good thing. Comprising of succulent and tender beef ribs, glazed with BBQ sauce, I have to say this dish had to be one of my favourite that night. The meat literally fell off the bones, requiring nearly no effort to chew due to its tenderness.
Paella De El Submarino Amarillo |
Cajun Cutlets |
Not a very big fan of clams or seafood, the Paella De El Submarino Amarillo did look very appetizing. I had a bit, and that was about it I guess. The other dish shown above, the Cajun Cutlets was more suitable for my palette. The chargrilled lamb cutlets were placed beautifully for our pickings, topped with homemade Cajun spices.
Various wines were served to pair with the food |
White wine the whole night through |
There were many other dishes served that night too, unfortunately the photos did not turn out as nice. We had a total of 10 dishes including dessert, namely the Hahm Yoke Than Sotong, Cajun Cutlets, Premium Beef Strip Asparagus, Pizza Number Ten, Pantai Timur, Paella De El Submarino Amarillo, Signature Aglio Olio Di Nero, NYC Short Ribs, Roman Salmon Roast and their Signature Tiramisu.

The bar counter on the second floor of Porcelene Jazz |
It wasn't long before we were all ushered up to the top floor of Porcelene Jazz, where the bar, and live band was performing. Sipping on wine, juices, while enjoying the music, I must say Porcelene Jazz is the perfect spot to unwind after a long day at work.

Hey that's me with Jeff Soo giving the thumbs up to a great night out |
So I was told Porcelene Jazz offers acid jazz music and is marketed as Malaysia's first Acid Jazz Bar & Restaurant. A quick information below on what is Acid Jazz is in order I suppose, as this is rather new to me.
Acid Jazz encompass six genres of music that has the capabilities to move and inspire the average person. An upbeat and realistic soundtrack for your lifestyle that is not found anywhere else in Malaysia at the very moment.
Looking down, we got to see the very unique floating umbrellas of Empire Damansara |
Overall Porcelene Jazz is a very nice spot to unwind with good music and food after work. Being one of the first restaurants launched in the very new Empire Damansara does help to boost up its image. The early bird catches the worm, or in this case, I think it would be the early blue pigeon of Porcelene Jazz. Do check out this place should you be in the vicinity.
Love the umbrellas!
