Agehan Japanese Restaurant @ Grand BlueWave Hotel Shah Alam
So there I was at this new-to-me Agehan Japanese Restaurant in Grand BlueWave Hotel Shah Alam (GBWHSA) last night for a short introduction to their bento set as well as an announcement of their recent Halal certification. Located in Shah Alam, it was my first time dining there. Do forgive me as this post does not contain the food prices for I was not given any info on it.

The rather cozy Japanese-like environment of Agehan Japanese Restaurant |
Agehan Japanese Restaurant at Grand Bluewave Hotel Shah Alam stands to be the first Japanese restaurant in a five-star hotel in Malaysia to be awarded the HALAL certification. Now this is a rather important award with a special event of Halal certificate giving ceremony held last month on May 16 2013 graced by YBhg Dato Hj Marzuki b. Hussin, director of Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS).
Japanese Master Chef Eiji Tokuda posing for the camera |
Arriving at the venue just in time for a short introduction by the very friendly staffs of Grand Bluewave, we were ushered to our tables for some nice Japanese food. Now, I'm sure I've said it before, raw food doesn't really go well with me, but they do look really nice on the camera. Check out below on the bento set that Chef Eiji Tokuda prepared for us.
Our Bento Set consisting of chicken, grilled saba fish, and vegetable tempura |

It was a rather simple bento set, one which came with miso soup, and other "noms" as pictured above. Served with rice, it was a meal on its own. I liked the teriyaki chicken, which went well when taken with the rice. As for the grilled saba, personally I'm not a fish person, but Janice did like it. Agehan's assorted vegetables tempura were done nicely, deep fried without being too oily, taken with the accompanying tempura sauce.
Sashimi Boat for all the sashimi lovers out there |

Assorted Sashimis @ Agehan Japanese Restaurant |
For sushi and sashimi lovers, I do recommend their Sashimi boat as it was filled to the brim with fresh raw sashimis. Again, I did not really know how to enjoy all these raw ingredients, but it was nice to note lots of my friends love it to bits. Agehan Japanese Restaurant has this on-going "All You Can Eat" buffet lunch and dinner at RM60++ per adult (15% discount for senior citizen and children), so be sure to check them out should you be in the vicinity.
