There comes a point of time when a person found greener pastures, and a better opportunity, and so the chance presented itself to me recently. After four years working for the company, I had to say my goodbyes, and it was pretty cool that my fellow colleagues actually planned out this simple lunch inviting nearly 30 other fellow colleagues to join in the festivities.

The rather simple interior |
So there I was at lunchtime, with this huge bunch of colleagues who took the effort and time off to celebrate my farewell. I have to mention Anuar and how touched I am that he went out of the way to plan this out, as well as making sure the dishes were pre-ordered so that we didn't waste time waiting for the food when we arrived. Do check out his well-planned out list below.

Engineers, you got to love them |
Anyway, this wasn't my first time dining over at Hillside Corner in Bukit Antarabangsa, as it seemed to be our favourite haunt each time a colleague leaves the company. The food there was pretty decent, nothing much to shout about though but the prices were really affordable. The ambiance was comfortable though, with enough seating for all 30 of us there that afternoon. Check out some of the dishes we had that afternoon.

#1 Grilled Steak - RM27 |
|
#2 Spaghetti Carbonara |
I had the Grilled Steak which actually tasted way better than it looks. The presentation itself was pretty messy with the black pepper sauce all over the place. As usual I had mine medium, and it came just the way I wanted it to be. The Spaghetti Carbonara looks good too, but I didn't really get a chance to taste it, as this was a farewell lunch, and you do not really expect me to go around picking on my colleague's food do you? Check out below for more dishes which were ordered that afternoon.

#3 Tom Yam Soup |
|
#4 Grilled Chicken Chop |
|
#5 Claypot Yee Mee |
I did not hear much complains from my colleague, so I assumed the rest of the dishes were pretty okay. Presentation wise, it seemed rushed though but I guess that can be expected from an order of 30 people. Now comes the part where I went around the table saying my "hi's and goodbyes". Being with some of these friends for like ages, it was actually quite sad to leave actually.

We did take a lot of photos that afternoon, so bear with me as I really want to put it all up making sure I do not miss any of the great folks who were there. It was a warm happy occasion as can be seen from all the smiles captured. I cannot remember the last time we had such a nice gathering as this.

Well, what can I say, while walking around it was pretty hilarious as I looked like the host of Hillside Corner Restaurant asking how's everything going. Deep inside, I'm touched that these cool people actually took the effort to celebrate with me.
