I had the opportunity to catch this street party, while guzzling down Guinness stout with fellow bloggers and friends, I knew it was going to be a good night from the moment I arrived there at 9pm. The streets were already filled with all shades of green when I arrived.

The uproarious Irish celebration saw a crowd of hat-totting revelers celebrating in the true spirit of St. Patrick’s with hilarious stand-up comedians, live music performances, Irish dancers, street artists, funny green friends, and a carnival of fun games and activities. Also making their return were the Guinness bikers who roared in at the head of the St. Patrick’s parade.

On top of joining in the festivities and enjoying Guinness, we had the opportunity to get a total Guinness experience over at Arthur's Lounge. It was a session of educating us on how to pour ourselves a pint of Guinness straight from the tap, as well as getting our very own customized Guinness glass with our names. It was pretty cool to learn the method of pouring a glass of Guinness.

True to its mission, the sounds of laughter were amplified by the Comedy Club KL Tent, where international and local stand-up comedians held court and left audiences in stitches. Local acts, Kavin Jay and Jason Leong delivered their outrageous jokes much to the delight of the appreciative crowd. The comedy court ended with headline comedian Papa CJ reducing the crowd to tears with his witty jokes and snappy one-liners. Living up to everyone’s expectation, the night of fun and laughter also featured a truly spectacular fireworks display.

That's Marc and Hitomi getting a tad too "friendly" |
Overall it was a really good night out. The whole street was filled with revelers and the atmosphere was one of laughter and friendliness. Everybody smiled to everyone, and nobody felt left out.
As of today, I've just heard news that that with a staggering 435,456 people joining the campaign around the world in the spirit of friendliness , GWR has confirmed two new Guinness World Records have been set, making St Patrick’s Day officially the world's ‘Friendliest Day of the Year’. Guinness World Record has spent 12 hours painstakingly counting the number of online pledges and the number of people who attended the St Patrick’s celebrations around the world for two GWR titles – the Most pledges received for a campaign and the Largest St Patrick’s Day celebration worldwide.
