Penang Batu Lanchang Market Food Court

My last trip to Penang last weekend was a fruitful one where I managed to get some things done. I managed to slot in an afternoon of penang food "makan makan" session with 2 other Penang bloggers (Eugene and JamieY) over at Batu Lanchang Market Food Court. My last meet-up with Eugene was over some good dim sums in Farlim a few months back. (Maxim Dim Sum Farlim Penang)

"Batu Lanchang Market is housed within a two-storey market complex in Batu Lanchang. As with most markets in Malaysia, the ground floor houses the wet market while the upper floor has a multi-purpose hall."

"There is a good variety of fresh vegetables and meat in this market, and after you have done your marketing, you can retire to the hawker food court for breakfast. Among the popular hawker food you can have at this food court include the Koay Kak, Pasembur, toasted bread, Chee Cheong Fun and Char Koay Teow."

Jamie suggested to have some food over here, and I agreed as any meet-up over good Penang food is a successful meetup. This was my first time meeting Jamie, and it was the same case for Eugene. Bloggers are really friendly folks, and we were soon chatting like old time friends! Eugene even brought his wife and kids along for the fun.

It was only around 3pm, yet the place was packed with patrons. The variety of food available here is huge, with numerous food stalls serving all types of Penang delicacies.

The environment, it was a crowded saturday afternoon
There were a couple of food which I found out was famous in Batu Lanchang Food Court, namely the Char Kuey Teow, and Pasembur. It's interesting to note that Penang Pasembur is called Rojak over in the central region (KL). Check out below on some of the wonderful food we had that day.

It was really good having a chat with these awesome bloggers. I got to know how the blogging scene is like in Penang, and we got to share some useful tips on blogging too with each other. After the meal, Jamie and I continued food hunting around Penang town, but that is another story. Nice meeting you both Jamie and Eugene. Overall, I feel anyone looking for affordable yet delicious Penang food, with a lot of choices to choose from should drop by Penang Batu Lanchang Market.
