MTV Worldstage was held LIVE in Malaysia last couple of weeks on the night of 24th July 2011 over in ICity, Shah Alam. I was fortunate to get a couple of invites thanks to Benjamin. So there I was for an outdoor concert hosted by MTV feeling rather excited because I rarely go for concerts of this sort. This year's MTV Worldstage had a line-up of 30 Seconds to Mars, Neon Trees, Beast, and Pop Shuvit.

MTV Worldstage Live in Malaysia 2011! |

My MTV Worldstage tickets |
The cool thing about this concert was the fact that it is going to be aired live on MTV Asia channel on 8th August 2011, hence the large video cameras and bright stage setup.

I reached I City to find out that no cameras were allowed in, and saw that they were checking everyone. Horrors, a blogger without his camera is a very sad blogger. Yours truly had to keep his camera in the car and was forced to use his camera on his phone, the pictures didn't come out nice hence this post shall have less photos on the event itself. I did take some photos before we went in though.

The queue to enter the concert space |
Anyway, the time stated 6.30pm, but the concert only kicked off at around 8pm. It was all good though as I managed to squeeze myself to the front of the stage. I did meet up with a couple of bloggers who was there too except we were in different zones so we couldn't really get to jump and scream together. It was all good though as the crowd that night was huge, and as the night went on, my ears were ringing from all the fans screaming.

Ken Wooi and I. I'm trying to get a good photo to prove we were there, but the quality turned out rather poor so I just set it to classic black and white. |
The opening act was by Malaysian hip-hop/rock band Pop-Shuvit who got the stage heated up immediately.Check out below on the 4 awesome line-up for MTV Worldstage LIVE in Malaysia concert. 30 Seconds to Mars was undeniably one of the greatly anticipated act, and so was the Korean group Beast.

#1 Pop Shuvit |
"With their unique blend of funky eclectic beats, hard hitting riffs and adrenaline-fueled live shows, Pop Shuvit - Moots! (vocals), JD (guitar), AJ (bass), Rudy (drums) and Uno (turntables) - is undeniably Malaysia's best hip-hop/rock band"

Beast on stage, and the crowd went crazy. |

#3 Neon Trees |
Like their name, Neon Trees are a combination of slick pop hoops and sturdy organic rock whose sound is themed with adolescent angst, longing, love lost and found, reminiscing the music of the ‘60s garage rock scene all the way to today’s dance rock anthems.

#4 Thirty Seconds To Mars |
Formed by Jared and Shannon Leto, Thirty Seconds To Mars are currently one of the world's biggest rock bands with over 4 million albums sold.

My apologies for not being able to share more photos of the concert, but it was a really good concert as everyone had a great time rocking to the music. As for me, I left feeling rather good to have experienced a rock concert (the adrenaline rush, the sweat, the heat, the crowd, and the great music). Since the concert was held at I City, the city of lights, we took the chance to walk around the place after the concert.
