Soon Peng Bah Kut Teh At Sungai Bakap Penang

Today, after reading a couple of blogs detailing some good bah kut teh's spots around KL and Klang, I remembered I had some pictures of this place in Sungai Bakap, Penang offering this really delicious Bah Kut Teh. It will be a waste not to share this. My better half, Janice's hometown is in Sungai Bakap, and everytime I'm there, we never fail to drop by this Soon Peng Bah Kut Teh.

The environment is nothing to shout about, in fact it looked rather run down. However, Penang people love to eat good food no matter where it's located, and I'm one of them. It is a family run business, so the order was taken at the "kitchen" itself, which is actually outside in plain view for all to see. We could actually watch as our meal is being prepared.

I was intrigued with this mountain of chili on one of the tables.
This place is actually quite famous among the locals living here, and we noticed even though it was still early in the evening, the place was already bustling with patrons. The order was made for a big bowl of Bah Kut Teh to cater for 4 of us. Do check out some of the photos I managed to take that evening.

The meat was really tender, when eaten with the vegetables, meatballs and soup, I actually smacked my lips in satisfaction. I don't like it when the soup tastes watered down or too salty, and this bowl of Bah Kut Teh soup was just perfect with some really nice fragrant. All these for a price of only RM29, I would definately drop by again on my next trip back to Penang.
