Inspiring Italy At Le Meridien KL
Fresh off its successful Vietnamese culinary event recently, Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur will be showcasing another week of good food, this time with the tastes from Italy. "Inspiring Italy" will be held from June 4th to June 12th 2011, featuring guest Chef Fabrizio hailing from the kitchens of Prego, at The Westin Beijing Financial Street.
Live and dine like a true Italian as Chef Fabrizio whips up some of his Italian creations. With over 20 menu items to choose from, experience a new perspective to Italian cuisine and an equally great dining experience at Favola Italian Restaurant in Le Meridian.
We were introduced to three of the delicious dishes that will be served throughout the week. All three dishes had this really long name, "Eggplant Millefeuille, Fresh Goat Cheese and Basil", "Spaghetti, Maine Lobster and Fresh Spring Herb Pesto" and "Saffron Risotto, Crispy Seafood and Red Capsicum Sauce" Check out the first dish cooking demonstration below.

We were introduced to three of the delicious dishes that will be served throughout the week. All three dishes had this really long name, "Eggplant Millefeuille, Fresh Goat Cheese and Basil", "Spaghetti, Maine Lobster and Fresh Spring Herb Pesto" and "Saffron Risotto, Crispy Seafood and Red Capsicum Sauce" Check out the first dish cooking demonstration below.
#1 Eggplant Millefeuille, Fresh Goat Cheese and Basil
The ingredients
800g eggplant
200g flour
400g tomato
120g parmesan cheese (grated)
20g basil leaves
100g goat cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
For the pesto:
200g basil
30g parmesan cheese
200g olive oil
30g pine nuts
#1 Slice eggplant, spread wih some salt and pepper, cover and let it rest till it starts to repel the water. |
#2 Dust eggplant in flour and deep fry till golden. |
#3 make a millefeuille using the fry eggplants, tomato, basil and parmesan till reached the right height. |
Voila! The finished product! |
#2 Spaghetti, Maine Lobster and Fresh Spring Herb Pesto
The Ingredients
320g spaghetti
100g olive oil
300g cherry tomato (halved)
30g garlic (chopped)
4pcs mained lobster
100g butter
#1 Boil pasta in a large pot with salted water. |
#2 Roast garlic in large pan with olive oil, add lobster, cherry tomato and cook with some water, add seasoning |
#3 To obtain the perfect sauce |
Arrange spaghetti beside the lobster, and there you have the finished product! Delicious taste I kid you not. |
#3 Saffron Risotto, Crispy Seafood and Red Capsicum Sauce
The Ingredients
320g risotto rice
80g onion (chopped)
80g olive oil
500g chicken stock
1g saffron
120g fresh calamari (finely sliced)
#1 Sautee onion in olive oil, add rice, stock, saffron. |
#2 Dust seafood in the semolina, deep fry till golden and add salt and pepper. |
Display risotto on a flat plate, decorate with seafood and dress with sauce.. |
So there you have it, three delicacies from Italy brought to you by Chef Fabrizio for your enjoyment this week at Le Meridien. Ala carte for just RM25++ to RM130++, dine like a true-blue Italian this week.
