Have you dropped by this very cool Weissbrau German Bistro & Bar in Pavilion KL? If you haven't then I tell you, you've definately missed out one of the great German fare available around KL. Tonight, Weissbrau kicked off a new menu launch at their Pavilion branch, and I'm happy to get the invites for some free food and drinks aka German beer by Orchan Consulting.

I reached the place just over 7pm, and the feast was just starting. The environment was cozy except it was slightly packed due to the amount of people there. A quick check educated me on how Weissbrau came about getting its name. The word Weissbrau is a combination of German word "Weiss" for white and brau for brew, which refers to the white brew or white beer. (Most popular and common beer in Germany)

Some early refreshment |
Well the event kicked off with this rather cool band called "Mad Sally", with some pretty cool looks. The music was rather too loud though, which isn't very conducive especially when we were taking the food. As the night progressed, with the beers the band started to sound better. Here's to Mad Sally as captured below.

So what do you do at a German bistro? Drink their beers of course! It was free flow the whole night, where we could actually just order off the drinks menu. As for me, I was rather conservative in ordering the beers as I actually preferred liquor to beers, but German beers really have this smooth feel to it, and it's not heavy at all. Check out a couple of photos I managed to get of the beers and dessert.

Anyway back to the food, sorry that I got carried away with the beer and dessert. A range of really nice dishes were whipped up for us. However as the dishes were set out in a buffet rather than in specific plates, the photos did not turn out very nice. By the time I reached the buffet table, chunks of meat were already taken. What I have would be a couple of nice photos of the new menu which I took from the media kit, and my very own plate with a mountain of meat. Check it out below.

It was a great night where I got to hang out with my usual gang of great blogger friends (Carmen, Elwyn, Melissa and bf, Edwin) while meeting up with some great new blogger friends and the media. Some were really famous food bloggers which I've got the chance to chat with. I got to meet the man in charge of Weissbrau himself, Operations Director, Edward Ong too who was just awesome. A good night indeed.
