The other day, I was at Cyberjaya to visit my brother,
Ivan at his university. It was nearing dinner time, and I remembered t
his cool chinese restaurant at Serdang, just opposite Mines which serves one of the best paper wrapped chicken (Chi Pao Kai) around. Since my brother had never been to this restaurant before, I brought him there that night.
The restaurant is called Leong Ya Indah, gps coordinates 3°1'30"N 101°43'1"E (got this off the internet) I used to frequent this place often during my uni years some 9 years back. I was pleasantly surprised to see the restaurant still bustling with people, and my favorite paper wrapped chicken is still available as well!

Paper Wrapped Chicken @ RM3 each |
Sorry, I couldn't help it, but I loved the chicken so much that I had to put the picture of it first! To order the food, there was a menu prepared, with pictures, so it was fairly simple to order what we wanted that night. Have a look below on the simple meal we had for the night.
|
Illustrated Food Menu |
|
Chrysanthemum Tea - RM 4.50 |
|
Kai Lan Vegetables - RM 10 |
|
Sweet and Sour Pork Ribs - RM 15 |
The food was delicious to say the least. The paper wrapped chicken smelt so nice that the moment it reached my table, it took great will power to refrain myself from immediately tearing the paper and eating it straightaway. I had to snap some pictures first remember?
On top of my favourite chicken, I find the "pai kut ong" pork ribs very tasty. 9 years back the prices were way cheaper though. But I guess times have changed, and the cost for food has increased over the years.

It was a full house that night with all tables taken |

Take good care of yourself at uni Ivan! |
The total damage for 3 person that night was close to RM45, which to me was on the higher average price. I can't say it's expensive, just wished the portions were bigger. I just couldn't get enough of that chicken! Would I return for another makan session at Leong Ya Indah Restaurant? Of course!
Drooling at the sweet and sour pork ribs! :P
ReplyDeleteEh you should go to the one with air cond one. =) the black glass door one. That one is slightly cheaper. lol.

Maybe easier to go there to eat than to go all the way to Serdang.

Memang nice place to makan. They used to be a small stall under a tree at where the Mines Shopping Complex is now. Then they moved to this Business Park. They have shops in 3 location at the Business park. If not mistaken two without aircond and 1 with aircond
