That '70s Run 2017 @ Taman Tasik Prima Puchong By Symphony Life

Symphony Life's That '70s Run 2017

My first run of the year, starting the year right! Waking up in the wee hours of the day, a total of 1,035 fitness enthusiasts participated in Symphony Life Berhad’s first ever fun run event, That ‘70s Run at Taman Tasik Prima, Puchong. I was there as early as 5.30am, all excited to break a sweat in the name of health and fitness.

Staying true to the theme, many participants took to dressing up in their ‘70s-themed look. It was a fun run after all, hence the 5.8km run distance. What sets this fun run apart from other runs would be the music played which we get to dance to. We grooved to the disco tunes of the 70’s at two checkpoints before claiming our retro-designed medals at the finish line.

Tan Sri Azman Yahya, Executive Chairman of Symphony Life Berhad, flagged off the run at 7.30 AM. Mr Stewart Tew, Chief Operating Officer (Sales and Marketing), Symphony Life Berhad, said that the event was aimed at bringing families and friends together to promote a healthier lifestyle among Malaysians.

“This outdoor event will not only create awareness on the importance of having a healthy lifestyle, but also brings the residents of Taman Tasik Prima Puchong closer together and fosters good neighbourhood interaction,” added Tew.

After the hard work, everyone sampled the variety of food and beverages served at the mini fest and participated in other exciting activities planned for the event. Over 10 food trucks and vendors were present to serve the participants and the general public. Free health checks were also provided by Lincoln University College. The checks included diabetes, BMI (Obesity checks), and blood pressure checks. Arthritis Foundation Malaysia (AFM) also supported the event and an exhibition to raise awareness about arthritis.

Besides that, many entertaining activities such as blowing giant bubbles, street clown performance, inflatable playground, face painting, colouring workshop, and photo booths to pose at were also available for the whole family to enjoy.

The on-stage activities commenced with the selection of the best-dressed participant awards, where Abu Azmir Kassim took the crown for male category, while Samantha Sharminie and Dinesh Roshaut won the female and children categories respectively. They won RM800 worth of Parksons vouchers, sponsored by Golden Prima Builders Sdn. Bhd.

I did not win the lucky draw, but it's all right. We got to take part in some mini games and contests, and lucky draws with prizes worth of up to RM10, 000 were up for grabs. The grand prizes included a TV, bicycles, smartphone, tablet, and more. No luck for me that morning.

Symphony Life Berhad Developments in Taman Tasik Prima Area

Symphony Life Berhad has a good presence in the Taman Tasik Prima area and they continue to enhance the township with a variety of modern developments. A good example is their premium, low density Elevia Residence. There are only 34 units of 3 storey villas with each home fronting a linear garden that comes with a private lift and 128 units of condominium with 3 lifts serving 6 condo units per floor.

This project is scheduled for completion in Q3 2017. This development coupled with an upcoming lakefront mall, will add plenty of vibrancy to the neighbourhood. An added advantage is the new interchange to Taman Tasik Prima that has made travelling to this part of Puchong quite a breeze.
