Did you know Da Long Yi Hotpot has a very big following and outlets worldwide. Hailing from Chengdu, this authentic Sichuan style hotpot has over 300 outlets worldwide! It’s pretty cool then that they’re now available for us to enjoy in Malaysia. I was over at their outlet in Kota Damansara, Sunway Nexis to be exact. In fact I hear their opening their 3rd outlet soon at Bukit Bintang. Their 2nd outlet currently is located in Johor.

Good stuff all around, the restaurant itself felt exactly how you would want an authentic Chinese hotpot restaurant to look. Complete with smoke and a projection of a dragon flying around, it’s really very impressive. The atmosphere was comfy, with wooden oriental interior all round.

The restaurant occupies two floors, where the ground floor consists of common dining tables while on the 1st floor we have the VIP rooms. , The smaller VIP room can sit up to 6 to 8 people while the bigger VIP room can sit up to 10 people with minimum spending.

When we were there, we tried most of their signature dishes. In fact we were recommended to go for Da Long Yi’s Tri-pot consisting of signature Mala spicy soup base, tomato and mushroom soup. With yummy ingredients ranging from meat balls, meat slices, exotic China cuisine such as duck blood, duck tongue, beef trike, to crayfish and fresh prawns, there’s just so much to choose from.

Starting off with some appetisers, we tried out their crispy pork, brown sugar glutinous rice cake and some house specialty from the owner; the black stinky tofu. It’s currently not in their menu, the stinky tofu, but hey, good stuff!

Intrigued by their signature scented tea, I do like the pretty presentation of the tea. You could go for their Jia Duo Bao Herbal drink as well.

Let the feast begin!

This time around, we literally went wild with our hotpot ingredients. There’s a promotion for the bamboo prawn and fish paste, so do remember to order these.

Some of the items we tried that evening ranged from beef sticks, marbled beef slices, iberico pork slices, handmade pork dumplings, pork brains and intestines, duck blood and tongue, crayfish, fresh prawns, pork balls and many more. Nearly all their ingredients in Da Long Yi Hotpot is imported directly from China. Authentic much!

Don’t forget to end your filling meal at Da Long Yi Hotpot with some beer and their delicious desserts. We went for the delicious Caramel soybean pudding and lemon ice jelly as desserts after our heavy meal.
