Deepavali’s in November, but that’s not stopping us from enjoying the latest Flaming Koli Deepavali Promotion menu from The Chicken Rice Shop today. Now The Chicken Rice Shop has always been my go-to for some really nice flavourful chicken dish. I especially liked their fragrant chicken rice.

This time around, in the run up to Deepavali celebrations, The Chicken Rice Shop (TCRS) have come up with a new Chicken dish infused with loads of Indian spices, aptly named the Flaming Koli. Read on. 

Spicy, rich in flavour, that pretty much sums up the new Indian spiced fish from TCRS. This Deepavali menu is being offered starting from 21st September 2020 until 15th November 2020. Introducing the “Flaming Koli”, the flavourful spicy chicken dish is made from a blend of Indian spices which is bound to tantalise your taste buds.

That afternoon, we tried out the Flaming Koli Set Meal B which goes for RM48.90 and meant for 2pax. Between the both of us eating, the portions were really more than enough. We got the Flaming Koli (2pcs), one single serve chicken (we chose the roast chicken), Nyonya Pai Tee, Sai To fish ball soup, Pak Choy with Oyster Sauce, 2 bowls of rice and 2 soup of the day.

Inspired by the aromas of Indian cuisine, TCRS puts in careful consideration to recreate and replicate the flavourful dish in this exclusive Deepavali menu. In fact, if you would just like to have the Flaming Koli on its own, you can order it as an ala-carte order priced at RM16.90.

June Song, Head of Marketing of TCRS Restaurants Sdn Bhd shared that while many among us may not have the time to spare when it comes to cooking, nevertheless, we still look forward to the comfort of home-cooked food especially when during festive seasons.

“Deepavali is a time of giving, sharing with our loved ones and is a celebration filled with happiness, hence TCRS is eager to start the Deepavali celebrations sooner by providing a special Deepavali dish for all to relish in,” said June.

Is is worth it, and should you try it? 

I echo a resounding YES to that question. Biting into the Flaming Koli chicken, I can literally taste the spices and sweet curry flavours that went into making this dish. Good stuff, it can get a tad spicy, but that’s to be expected. The dish itself has red chilli on top. The sauce is of the thick variation, and it goes really well with the rice. I would have preferred more sauce though, but it suffice if you’re not too picky.
