More Chinese New Year dishes are to be savoured this festival. It’s going to be a feast of everything nice over at Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel. I was there to savour their Chinese New Year offerings this year at the new Evolution Cafe, which will be available from 5th January onwards. Read on.

This year’s set of dine-in menus and CNY buffet spread is led by Executive Chef Edmund Ng and Executive Sous Chef Kok Chee Kin. Toss to prosperity with some yummy Yee Sang, with multiple seafood options, complete with the traditional shredded white turnip, carrots, yam, pickled ginger, pomelo and homemade plum sauce.

The buffet counters are filled with a whole lot of CNY favourites, from the steamed whole fish in light soy sauce, baked tiger butter prawns with crispy prawn and cheese rolls, steamed glutinous rice with assorted meat in lotus leaf, vegetable money bag, glutinous rice ball, home-made nian gao and more.

There’s even a spot full of an assortment of New Year cookies. The Chinese New Year buffet at Evolution Café, Renaissance Kuala Lumpur will be available on the 16-18 January and 23-25 January 2020 from 6:30 pm till 10:30 pm and is priced at RM158 nett per person.

For intimate gatherings, go for a luxurious 9-course set menus that symbolizes happiness, prosperity and longevity. The specially curated menus will be available from 5th January 2020 until 8th February 2020. A booking of 5 days in advance is required though, so be quick about it.
