Fun times with Skippy Peanut Butter. Yes, that’s exactly what we had during the event held over at DIY Bites Studio, Setia City Mall the other day. If you have not tried out Skippy Peanut Butter before, you have got to try these smooth yummy noms. We were over at the event in celebration of the World Sandwich Day (Nov 3rd), together with culinary prodigy Chef Leah May to make some delectable sandwiches! Read on.

World Sandwich Day

Yes, there is a World Sandwich Day, and yes, we were celebrating it that afternoon! Fun fact, did you know that the humble sandwich here is actually so beloved in some cities of the world and is considered a top cultural food? Take the Cubanos (Cuban sandwich) for Miami or the Chivito for Uruguay; the latter enjoys an exalted status as the country’s national dish.

There’s even a day that’s dedicated to sandwiches, namely the National Sandwich Day, which honours the day believed to be when sandwiches were invented.

DKSH Business Unit Consumer Goods, the leading Market Expansion Services provider for Fast Moving Consumer Goods in Asia, has partnered with Skippy Peanut Butter and DIY Bites Studio on the World Sandwich Day to celebrate the birth of this much beloved food item. It’s apt then that we had a Sandwich Making Competition between the very talented Chef Leah Choy and Chef Jie Low.

With inspirational recipes specially created by the culinary experts at Skippy and DIY Bites Studio, we were treated to a hands-on experience on how to transform an everyday sandwich into a gourmet dish by incorporating the delicious and smooth taste of Skippy peanut butter.

This Skippy Peanut Butter has to be the smoothest peanut butter I’ve had in a while. In fact, their bottle now comes with these customised tip which made squeezing the peanut butter out super fun and easy. In fact, we were tempted to squeeze the Skippy Peanut Butter directly into our mouths! Nom!

Overall we had loads of fun, and DIY Bites Studio proves to be the perfect place to hold an event such as this. Celebrating World Sandwich Day couldn’t get any better! Bringing home some of the yummy Skippy Peanut Butter, I can’t wait to try making some home made peanut butter sandwiches too!
