Ever had that craving of sweet dessert, in specific a cold bowl of our Malaysian favourite dessert, the cendol? Well, I have, more often than not I would be on a look out for a good bowl of cendol.
Introducing the Cendol Kampung Hulu, which first opened in Melaka, they're now in town over at AEON Big Midvalley Megamall to be exact. Read on for our take on it.

Cendol Kampung Hulu is a rather big thing over in Melaka, where huge long queues are seen at their outlet. From what I gathered
, it's pretty awesome they have opened up branches in KL. Where is it located at? To be exact, its at LG, East Court just next to AEON Big Midvalley. You can't miss it, with it's rather large banner.

Serving a variety of flavours, basically it's cendol with different toppings from fruits like dragon fruits, corn, sea coconuts, longans and more. They even serve the king of fruits, durians as toppings. Up to 9 different flavours up for grabs. Intrigued yet?

What's Special About Cendol Kampung Hulu?
Yes you heard that right, 9 flavours, and the unique thing about Cendol Kampung hulu is the fact that the shaved ice is not your usual ice block, shaved in a machine. Instead, they use
santan infused into the ice block. After shaving the ice into fine strips, the trademark of Cendol Kampung Hulu has to be the fact it is super fine and literally melts in your mouth.

I had to get used to the fact that I have to
wait until the ice melts before it becomes like your usual cendol aka the liquid form. It's a good change though, as the santan ice dissolves very quickly once you pop it into your mouth.

Iced santan, shaved using their ice machine, with thin texture. Add in the main ingredients, cendol, red beans, "gula melaka", one scoop of coconut ice cream and you have the base. Yep, the toppings are coming next!

Don't forget to try out their
Durian Cendol as well, where Cendol Kampung Hulu uses D24 or IOI durians as toppings. Any dessert with Durians will sit well with me. Yummy stuff!
