It’s the fasting month, so where do you head to when it’s time to break fast? Iftar with family and friends over at Kuala Lumpur International Hotel this month. I was over there the other evening to savour their fares, and it was pretty good, authentic delicious Malay cuisine and more.

‘Limpahan Lautan’ Ramadan Buffet Brochure

My first thoughts was the price of the buffet, it’s really quite appropriately priced at a modest RM69 per pax for adult, and if for 2 adults, it’s RM120. No frills, the buffet spread was pretty decent, starting with the various kerabus, from chicken feet, puck betik to clams and more. The buffet is held over at their in house Topqot Cafe, serving up a good spread of food this Ramadan.

Aptly named Limpahan Lautan, we tried a plethora of traditional Malay seafood dishes, from prawns, to fishes, squids, fresh clams and more. Don’t forget to try out their range of sambals, something spicy for every taste buds.

At their live stations, we can get the chicken soup noodles, live grilled fish, chicken rice and even the deep fried noms such as my favourite fried bananas. If you’re a fan of roti jala with curry, it’s there for you as well.

Malay cuisine made up the majority of the dishes at the ‘Limpahan Lautan’ Ramadan buffet, from lamb curries, chicken curries to rendang and vegetables. Savour the various Kuihs and desserts, as well as pudding. They even have an ice cream corner (yay!), where we could dig into as much as we can take.
