It has been a decade since I last bought a Casio G-Shock watch, but I’ve always wanted a new one. Totally reliable and they last literally forever, I was delighted then to have the chance to review the GD-100GB-1 BLACK RESIN BAND MEN SPORTS WATCH from Marco Store (www.mymarcostore.com) recently. The watch came in the standard Casio G-Shock box, with an outer box containing a “can”-like container inside which consists of the watch itself, owner’s manual, and warranty card, Unboxing was pretty quick and effortless, but do check out the video below.

Design and Colour 

The G-Shock GD-100GB-1D isn’t your typical stealth, blend in G-Shock, as the dial itself is a bright golden colour giving out a very unique vibe to the watch. In fact, upon the first time I held this watch in my hand, I did feel it was a tad too “bling” for my liking. It finally did grew on me, and I grew to like it even more with each passing day. The watch looks and feels sporty, with a mineral glass, resin case and band.

How Big Is It?

The diameter of the watch case including the crown stands at 55 mm, excluding crown is 51.5 mm. That’s pretty huge by any means, but on the hand, it felt rugged and wasn’t overly big.  The thickness of the case is 17.4 mm and the weight of the watch is 72 g. I find it pretty light on the wrist after a while, so don’t let these numbers scare you off owning one of these beauties.

What makes a G-Shock great is the fact that all G-Shocks are shock resistant, to the extent that I can say they may even outlive many rounds of battery changes. A quick setup was in order, and I was on the way to explore all the functions inside. I especially liked the LED Backlight as well as the flash alert. Check out the specifications below.
