Fun For The Whole Family @ SnoWalk i-City

When was the last time you went with your family to some place fun, cool and awesome? In our climate and the fact we are living in Malaysia, experiencing a snow environment seems pretty far fetched, well not until you experience i-City's SnoWalk! Winter in Malaysia, we were there with the kids, and it was fun, fun, fun! Playing in the snow, feeling the cold weather inside, read on for our experience.

Located in the vicinity of i-City, if you haven’t been there before, a quick search on Waze or Google Map will guide you there. Did you know i-City was selected by CNN recently as the top 25 most eye catching and colourful place in the world? Don’t play play. I’m ashamed to not have visited this place earlier, but hey, better late than never, yes?

We're all set!
We're all set!

The family, with the wife, kids and mum in tow, we decided to head to i-City’s latest attraction, SnoWalk. It’s the holiday season for the kids and what better place to be than a walk in winter wonderland. i-City recently spent RM 10 million to refurbish SnoWalk and it reopened with a huge vast space covering two football fields! That’s a really, really big area if you ask me.

What’s In i-City’s SnoWalk?

Lots of beautiful ice sculptures, snow figurines and sculptures, large igloos, and even slides inside! What a dreamy, unique experience, especially when coupled with the lighting inside. Of course, for first timers like myself, the coldness of the environment hit me the moment I entered inside.

Happy kids!

What’s awesome though is the fact that the moment you buy the tickets, i-City SnoWalk offers free snowshoes and thick comfy winter jackets. The jackets are sterilised and cleaned prior to us wearing them. With these included, we were prepared to withstand the temperature of minus 8 degrees inside. Yes, minus 8 degrees, luckily we came prepared, for the kids, they were in multiple layers of clothings including gloves and more! Bring it on, we said.

Ice Sculptures, and Games!

Christmas themed, we savoured the scenes and sights inside, and the kids loved the immersive experience of a cold, beautiful world. So many ice and snow sculptures can be found inside, and it’s a rather long walk through too! The lighting made it a tad tough to get true tones of pictures, but I must say it gives a beautiful blueish glow to the whole place.

Igloos and more!
Igloos and more!

Igloos! We got to play and enter these large igloos. Interesting to note it’s actually warmer in the middle of the igloo compared to outside. So that’s how the folks in the north pole survive the icy weather! There were ice slides, and even a “sleigh” area where we could paddle our way around the ice.

What an experience, even the trees inside were multi coloured thanks to the light projection. After walking through, passing all the beautiful ice sculptures and games, we ended up with the open area which is way brighter, complete with a giant slide, and snowflakes falling!

Yes, hold the snow in your hand, feel it on your face, kick it on the ground, so much to do, so little time to do it. I was happy the kids loved it!
