Another rather late posting on the festivities this month. Earlier this month I was at the beer tapping event over at Brotzeit German Bier Bar & Restaurant to signify the beginning of Oktoberfest, and it was pretty cool. Read on, and check out the noms we savoured that evening.

The origins of Oktoberfest, ever thought about it? It started off with the historical wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig to Princess Therese back in 1810, Germany. With an  abundance of  food and beer, coupled by the Bavarian spirit of song, dance and merry-making, so much fun they had that the event was repeated year after year  to what has today become the world renowned  Oktoberfest - the most famous beer carnival in the universe.

Customary Tapping Of The First Oktoberfest Barrel

We witnessed the first customary tapping of the first Oktoberfest barrel at Brotzeit Mid Valley. This year, beer lovers will celebrate at Brotzeit® German Bier Bar & Restaurant Mid Valley with typical Oktoberfest food offerings and the much awaited annually brewed Oktoberfestbier from the breweries of Paulaner & Hacker Pschorr, two of the six breweries allowed to brew Oktoberfestbier.

From the 22nd of September till 31st October 2018, Brotzeit will be offering it’s annual “Fest Platter” which includes crispy pork knuckle, pork ribs, crispy pork belly, garlic sausages, chicken chops & prestzels accompanied by sauerkraut and potato salad.
