It’s not everyday that I go for massages outside, but when I do, I am rather picky on the places to go to. A massage experience has to be a comfortable one, and everything matters, from the masseuseeu, to the location, ambiance and of course, pricing. Just last weekend, together with a bunch of like-minded friends, we headed to the latest new massage spot in town, The Rub Bar KL. Check out my experience below.

Located in the heart of KL city, at Red Hotel along Jalan Kamunting. To be exact, it’s located beside the popular Yut Kee Kopitiam. A brand new massage place, the name itself caught my attention even before I went there. The Rub Bar, where one goes to get rubbed, how quaint.

I love the decor of The Rub Bar KL, where upon arriving, we could just chill out at the lounge area akin to being at a real bar. Of course, no alcohol is served, instead, we get light tea with a hint of lime. What a refreshing start to a great ‘rub’ session!

The pricing are pretty good too, not exorbitant like some other places I’ve been before. The upper floors were where the massages are being done, with the ground floor dedicated for a foot wash and rub. Foot massages are done midway to the top floor. Lovely place, and every section is just so comfy and pleasant to look at.

Aromatherapy Oil Massages

There are a couple of Aromatherapy Oil Massages to choose from, namely the ‘detox’ , ‘destress’ and ‘de-muscle relaxant’ packages. In fact, currently The Rub Bar KL is running a very good promotion consisting 2 hours of awesomeness (Aromatherapy Massage - 60mins, foot reflexology - 60mins) at only RM147 (cheaper than their usual price of rm188). I went for this, and it was a really good choice.

If you’re keen on a shorter time, do try out their 1 hour 30 minutes massage package (1 hour aromatherapy body massage oil foot massage + 30 minutes) for RM149. On top of that, going through their menu and packages, there’s even a package for children massages! Oh wow, and everything is very competitively priced.

Let’s Begin!

A quick change into their clean and fresh robes, and my massage experience starts. We began with a quick wash of the foot, scrubbing all those dead cells away using salt scrubs. It’s indeed very therapeutic, with warm water being used and all. Ah, my foot never felt more clean!

After 5-10 mins of soaking my foot in warm water, I was ready for the foot reflexology and proceeded to the 2nd floor. Four big and comfy seats were available, and my masseur did a very good job rubbing and massaging my feet and legs.

The massage rooms upstairs were dimly lit, giving out a very “Bali-bali” relaxing feel. 60 minutes of body massage using their aromatherapy oil was just heavenly. Pick from a male masseur or a female masseuse, each of them very skilled at their profession. Not bad, not bad at all!

The session ended faster than I thought it would, probably due to the fact I was enjoying most of the time and the hours just flew by! If you’re looking for a good massage in the vicinity of KL, with great ambiance and price, head to The Rub Bar KL today itself! Will I come back in the future for more ‘rubs’? Definitely!
