With Ramadan coming up really soon, here’s another place you should consider to dine at in the evening. Medan Kampung Ramadan Buffet 2018 @ New World Hotel, Petaling Jaya will be available from 17th May until 14th June 2018 from 6.30pm to 10.30pm. It was my first time dining there, during the media preview, and I must say, I’m very impressed with the ambiance, and food available. See below on what to expect for the buffet.

All set to delight guests looking to break fast or just to gather and celebrate, the hotel’s Executive Chef – Alexander Chong, together with his master chefs have skilfully put together a sumptuous buffet spread which feature over 100 mouth-watering dishes of local and traditional Malaysian delicacies, promising an exceptional dining experience for all.

It’s a feast for all, where you could start with the fresh seafood on ice, comprising of bamboo clams, yabby, crabs, mussels, prawns and more. There are various ulam-ulam for the picking as well as traditional malay kerabu.

Highlights - Roasted Lamb!
One of the highlights at Pasar Baru (the restaurant serving the Medan Kampung Ramadan Buffet 2018 @ New World Hotel, Petaling Jaya) would be the Roasted Lamb. My favourite that evening, it is just too succulent and tender, tasty as well! Go for the other dishes on the spread as well, from Kambing Masak Merah, to Nasi Briyani, Nasi Minyak, Chicken Satay, Freshly Grilled Seafood or even the Bubur Lambuk. So many to choose, so little space in the stomach to hold it all in!

There are many live stations as well, serving freshly made hot noodles, lok-lok, grill station and even an Indian food corner serving vegetarian cuisine on top of the tandoori chicken, freshly made naan breads, fish tikka, chicken briyani and more.

End your feast with some wonderful sweet desserts in the form of the sago gula Melaka, blueberry cheese tarts, a selection of home-made Malay kuih, soft serve ice cream or fresh local fruits.

The buffet is available from 17 May – 14 June 2018, 6.30pm to 10.30pm and is priced at RM168 nett per adult and RM84 nett for children aged 12 years and senior citizens aged 60 years and above. For larger groups, Corporate Festive Packages are available from RM148 nett per person, with a minimum booking of 200 persons required.
