Rideasy - Malaysia's First Online Car Sharing Platform Launched
Malaysia’s first online car sharing service provider just launched recently, and I was privileged to attend its soft launch event. Rideasy is the name of this whole new platform. How interesting, unlike your usual run of the mill ride sharing platform, this is a completely different “ride”, so to speak. The latest platform makes it easy to borrow a car, or to make money by renting out your own car.

It does not matter if you’re the car owner or the person borrowing the ride, Rideasy will be the avenue for a quick solution to your problems! During the launch event, Rideasy’s CEO Nizran Kudus and his partner, Rizal Mukti were present to give us a whole complete rundown of the system. Basically we were briefed on how it works. Pretty exciting!

Rideasy was established since August 2016, fully localised service that offers a user friendly, comprehensive and secure online platform for users to share and borrow cars from others. As a car owner, to begin, just log on to www.rideasy.my and start listing your car immediately on the platform! It’s as easy as posting some photos of it, filling in the calendar for your car availability and the pricing you wish to set. A notification will come in when your car is requested / booked. From the platform itself, you will be able to confirm or decline if you wish too, as well as have the ability to contact the person who wishes to book your car.

On top of having a smooth transaction between two parties thanks to Rideasy’s sharing agreement, they secure your car as well. How? For starters, there’s an accompanied 24/7 nationwide breakdown assistance and even a personal accident coverage via Allianz Insurance.

What’s the catch? That’s what first came to my mine. I was pleasantly surprised to find out there isn’t any! By renting out my car, I’ll get 70-80% of the trip price, delivery fees and any additional mileage charges. When the need arises, it’s good to know Rideasy is there to provide a vehicle for short term (as short as 1 day) to long term rent. We can now enjoy driving the ideal car, without being tied to the financial commitments tied to owning and maintaining the ride. Browsing through the Rideasy website is simple, where we can choose from a whole range of variety of vehicles. We have the usual sedans, saloon cars, to MPVs, SUVs, and even high end luxury vehicles up for rent. Cool stuff!

During the soft launch event, we witnessed some winners of their contest held recently being presented with their prize. Now why didn’t I know about the contest beforehand! I would have totally joined it. It was a survey contest that was held throughout the month of September and October, with the grand prize being an all-expense paid trip to Hard Rock Hotel, Penang, including a ride from Kuala Lumpur.
