UberEATS Is Here In Malaysia! Let's EAT!
UberEATS Is Here In Malaysia! Jom Makan
Just last week or so, I was at the launch of UberEATS in Malaysia, something I've been looking forward to for some time. UberEATS have been really successful in our neighbour country, hence when I heard they're coming to Malaysia, it got me pretty excited! Wondering what is UberEATS? Basically it's Uber's stand-alone meal delivery app that makes getting food as easy as when you request for a ride. Read on.
Before Malaysia, UberEATS have already been launched in 9 other Asian cities; Seoul, Bangkok, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Taipei, New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Singapore. IN fact they are already present in 27 countries and over 100 cities globally! Not too late in Malaysia though, it's a good welcome, as the UberEATS app connects us with a broad range of local restaurants and food. Just by a tap on our smartphone screen, we are able to order from the full menus of our local favourites. How convenient!

Beginning 21 September 2017, UberEATS is ON!
Getting the right food, right NOW with a touch of a button, how easy can it get. Powered by the same pioneering technology that made ride-hailing a norm around the world, this is just awesome. UberEATS lets Malaysian consumers enjoy the power of choice at the touch of a button for culinary experiences and nice noms from the comfort of their homes, office, basically anywhere they're located at. Pretty cool eh?

UberEATS goes live on 21 September 2017, currently available at selected areas around Kuala Lumpur central business district, Bangsar and Damansara Heights. The operating hours for UberEATS runs daily from 9am until midnight, also depending on restaurant-partners' operating hours. Food-wise, we're spoilt for choice, as we have a mix of Malaysian favourites along with other Asian and Western Delights.
So many categories to select from in the UberEATS app |
During the launch event, there's this cool 'Crave. Tap. Enjoy' experiential session where we get to see a holographic, almost real projection from the moment we tapped to order from UberEATS app, to the image of Nasi Lemak arriving on the table. Really cool! Wished I had taken a video of it.

Voila, our Nasi Lemak has arrived, almost real enough to be eaten there and then.

More Than Just A Delivery App
The service aims to not only connect Malaysians with the food they love, but to also contribute positively to the economy by providing additional earning opportunities and growing the markets for Malaysian restaurants. Similar to being an Uber driver, now you can be a delivery partner for UberEATS. Earn while you drive or ride, for that matter.

Restaurant owners get to tap onto the UberEATS platform as well, giving them the tools to improve their business with analytics and insights to make better data-driven decisions. In fact, it's pretty helpful for restaurants without an existing delivery service. UberEATS offers a reliable delivery option that allows these restaurants to expand their service offerings, reaching a whole new network of potential customers! Win-win for all.
Did I mention we had great noms at the launch event of UberEATS Malaysia? :) |
