PLOY @ Clearwater, Damansara With The Entertainer

Now this isn't my first time over to PLOY, many times in fact. This time around though, we took advantage of their Buy 1 Free 1 Mains offer as they are included in the list of merchants on The Entertainer app. Getting great food, with this offer, it's a no brainer. Check out what we had that evening over at PLOY @ Clearwater, Damansara.

Ploy is a study in modern Asian cuisine, culminating from years of travel, experimentation and unadulterated gluttony. Their dishes cater to taste buds that embrace Asian spices in not-so-Asian dishes. With their tagline, 'PLOY with your food', it's an interesting play of words to savour their delectable dishes. We had a total of five of their main dishes, to make full use of the Buy 1 Free 1 offers.

PLOY’S Black Fried Rice

PLOY’S Black Fried Rice - RM30.50

One of PLOY's signature dishes, and my favourite dish would be their Black Fried Rice. The blackness comes from the squid ink, served with seafood, crunchy Thai sweet basil and an egg yolk to top it off. Pour the yolk unto the rice, mix well, and you have yourself some delectable, savoury delights. Love how the fried rice blended well with the squid ink, with the Thai sweet basil bringing out the flavours too! Tasty dish.

Grilled Lemon Grass Chicken

Served with onigiri omelette rice, the Grilled Lemon Grass Chicken came served in a rather pretty styled plate with carrots, broccoli and pickles. Initially the chicken did look a bit too dry, but one bite into it and the flavours burst inside your mouth. It went well with the Japanese onigiri rice as well.

Wagyu Beef Don

I just had to have more of these!
I just had to have more of these!

My favourite dish at PLOY that evening had to be the Wagyu Beef Don. This dish had a 'ying-yang' shape when seen from the the top. The slightly spicy and sweet dish had really delicious wagyu beef matched with equally yummy beef bacon egg, atop Japanese don, doused in teriyaki beef sauce. Too good to have it alone, we ordered a couple more to share among ourselves. Thanks to The Entertainer app, we could have one for FREE each time we order ONE main.

Linguine Mentaiko

Linguine Mentaiko - RM24.50

Looks can be deceiving, PLOY's Linguine Mentaiko looks simple enough, but it turned out otherwise. Not as simple as it looks the flavours of the mentaiko coupled with nori and fresh cream makes this a dish pasta lovers would enjoy.

Pan Fried Sea Bass with Green Curry

Pan Fried Sea Bass with Green Curry - RM37.80
Pan Fried Sea Bass with Green Curry - RM37.80

Another pretty looking main dish from PLOY, we had the Pan Fried Sea Bass with Green Curry next. A mix of tasty pan fried sea bass with some very Japanese tasting Green Curry, we had these crispy sweet potatoes served on the side. The sea bass was cooked just nice, without being overdone, perfect for fish lovers. The green curry is unique.

  1. Lemon grass chicken, I'd like that! A touch of Thai.
