La Figue Restaurant @ PV128 Setapak

Time for some good food, this time back at the area I used to stay for 7 years in the past. La Figue @ PV128 Setapak, this is a pork free restaurant, previously Tappers Cafe before they went for a re-name with new additions in their menu. They have a bakery too, serving fluffy delicious pastries on top of their western fare. Check out what we had that afternoon.

The ambiance inside La Fique is rather nice, decked in white contemporary decor. It's basically Tappers with a name change, where diners get to enjoy their western and local cuisine, on top of the fluffy delicious croissants and pastries. A special note for their croissants, I loved mine!

Before our mains arrived, we did head to their bakery section to try out some of their pastries, specifically the fire cracker sausage and Apple Strudel. I personally loved the Salted Caramel Mille Crepe, which whetted my appetite for more savoury offerings to come.

Western Sets

Big Breakfast Set - RM13.90
Big Breakfast Set - RM13.90

Malaysians love their Big Breakfast, which is one of the bestseller dish at La Figue. Priced at RM13.90, it's actually pretty affordable considering you get a whole lot of yums on your plate. La Figue’s Big Breakfast Set consists of grilled chicken ham / beef bacon, hash brown, sauteed mushrooms, scrambled egg, sausage, toast and baked beans. Not bad at all.

Hainanese Chicken Chop (RM13.90),
Hainanese Chicken Chop (RM13.90)

Another wonderful dish from La Figue would be their Hainanese Chicken Chop. Served with baked vegetables on the side, the chicken chop is doused in chef's special sweet and sourish Hainanese sauce. The chicken wasn't as crispy as I thought, but it's good enough. Love this dish I actually ordered another serving of it that day.

Chicken Chop in Mushroom Sauce - RM14.90
Chicken Chop in Mushroom Sauce - RM14.90

If you prefer the traditional type of Chicken Chop, then do go for their Chicken Chop in Mushroom Sauce. Served with generous amounts of wedges and salad on the side, the piece of breaded chicken is doused in mushroom sauce, perfect meal for brunch, lunch or even dinner.

Chicken Piccata (RM13.90)

We tried another two vastly different but equally delicious dishes, the Chicken Piccata with grilled chicken breast in savoury capers, and the Spaghetti Aglio Olio. For the Spaghetti Aglio Olio, we got to choose to have either mushroom, beef, tofu steak or chicken piccata to go with it. Interesting, not too heavy, good to have for those loving savoury creamy sauce infused dishes.

Pizza

With Osaka pancake inspired toppings, when served we could literally see the bonito flakes moving on the topping.
