Now I've been to Jaya 33 a couple of times, but have yet to drop by Ramen Ten & Shin Tokyo Sushi to dine there. It was pretty cool then that I had the opportunity to drop by and try out their fares last week, with a revamped menu sporting some really nice japanese cuisine and ramens.

Ramen Ten, which literally translates into 'Noodle Shop' in Japanese, was established back in 2002 with an outlet in Far East Plaza, Singapore, which is the 1st Halal Japanese Restaurant certified by Majlis Ulama Islam Singapura (MUIS) in Singapore. They have been at Jaya 33 since 2013, featuring 10 types of Ramen on the menu. What's unique would be their 1st of its kind 'Dry Ramen'.
Back in 2008, Ramen Ten expanded its store section by introducing Shin Tokyo Sushi that translates to 'New Tokyo Sushi' in Japanese. Shin Tokyo was created and adopted the concept of serving a fusion of a variety of Japanese Sushi that includes the creation of 'Spicy Sushi Range' served on conveyor belts.

With its first establishment based in Jaya 33 Petaling Jaya, Ramen Ten has expanded and launched to four other outlets across the Klang Valley namely at Ikano Power Centre, KLIA2, Seremban 2, and Cyberjaya.
This time around we had the privilege to dine with Ramen Ten & Shin Tokyo Sushi director Ivy Yuen who mentioned that under the new direction of the new management team, they have revamped its menu, introducing new cuisines to entice its diners.
Soft Shell Crab To Salmon Skin Salad - 23.90
We kicked off our small gastronomic feast of Japanese cuisine at Ramen Ten with their delectable appetizer, in the form of the Soft Shell Crab To Salmon Skin Salad. I'm a big fan of soft shell crabs, and when they throw in generous amounts of my favourite ingredient with crispy salmon skin, I couldn't help but dig into more than my fair share of this dish.
This starter had fresh iceberg lettuce and green coral salad with deep fried whole soft shell crab, crispy salmon skin, cherry tomatoes, carrots topped with a creamy runny house made Ni Tamago (Japanese lava egg). A special mention has to be given for their special home-made sesame sauce which went exceptionally well with the salad.
Santen Sashimi Moriawase - RM33.90
Sashimi lovers will grin from ear to ear upon seeing the Santen Sashimi Moriawase, which include Salmon, Salmon Belly and Tuna (Maguro). All these delicacies are spread out, one of each for us to savour and sample. Now I'm not a big fan of sashimi, but from what my fellow foodie commented, they were really fresh and went well with the lime and wasabi on the side.
Chicken Teriyaki Dry Ramen - RM16.90
Up next was Ramen Ten's signature dish, their Chicken Teriyaki Dry Ramen, unique and one of a kind. You'll find it hard pressed to find another ramen shop that is able to serve this dish. Cooked and prepared for that perfect texture, being neither too soft nor hard, the teriyaki sauce made all the difference. That and the juicy grilled chicken thigh, served with julienne fresh lettuce, carrot and chopped scallion.
Chicken Teriyaki Don Set - RM17.90
The same juicy grilled chicken thigh doused in teriyaki sauce is used here in the Chicken Teriyaki Don Set. This time you have three tasty appetizers, mini salad, miso soup and half a Ni Tamago (Lava egg) to satisfy your taste buds. Lovely stuff.
Tom Yum Chicken Katsu Ramen - RM22.05
Tom yum dish, in a Japanese restaurant? Their Tom Yum Chicken Katsu Ramen came as a surprise to me, as I haven't really tried tom yum served as a japanese cuisine. This fusion Japanese food is served with really flavourful tom yum soup, topped with a half tamago lava egg, lime. nori sheets, chopped scallion and some bean sprout/julienne carrots for that added crunch.
Deluxe Combo Set - RM28.90
If you're here with friends for the first time, and am unsure of which dish to order to try out their Deluxe Combo Set. A little of everything, each mini dish served in the combo set is sure to satisfy. This set serves up some pretty good selection, a slice of everything, which comprise of sashimi, noodles, rice, chawanmushi, tempura, california roll, miso soup, salad and fruits. The price is really low for what you get.
Tuna Mayo Roll - RM16.90
Did I mention, under the same management, there's actually two different outlet, namely Ramen Ten and Shin Tokyo Sushi. We were served with the Tuna Mayo Roll next, which was a special creation by the chef himself. It came cut into bite size pieces, the Tuna Mayo Roll is wrapped with tasty fillings of sushi tamago and fresh Japanese cucumber. I like the fact they coated the rice with generous amounts of ebiko, topped with home made tuna mayo in teriyaki sauce.
Asari Butter Soup - RM11.90
If you're in the mood for some delicious seafood clam soup, do try out their Asari Butter Soup, with around 10 pieces of clams floating in a savoury mildly flavoured broth. The butter adds a lot of flavour to the soup, natural goodness for all. Do check out some of their current on-going promotion over at Ramen Ten & Shin Tokyo Sushi @ Jaya 33 Petaling Jaya.
Their New Menu is up and now every diners can enjoy 10% DISCOUNT on TOTAL BILL during their promotion period ~ RM12.90 onwards for their Value Don Sets.
For the coming Ramadan from June 18 to July 16, 2015, there will be a special promotion of 10% DISCOUNT on ALL SUSHI BELTS ITEMS and FREE Hot/Cold Green Tea + 2 pieces of Kurma for all diners at JAYA 33 Outlet only.
Aiyor!!! So empty! I hope they do get a lot more people at other times of day - so many Japanese joints over there, would be a real tough fight to survive. Presentation here sure looks good - a lot nicer than some others. Love that egg!ReplyDelete
Price is steep but food is terrible. Regret having my lunch hereReplyDelete
