It was an evening of crabs, where we feasted on 10 flavour of crab together with unlimited refills of fresh fruit and vegetable juice at Chatz Brasserie Parkroyal Kuala Lumpur's Weekend Seafood Buffet dinner. The Seafood Buffet Dinner not only serves up 10 flavours of crab but features local and international seafood delicacies such as a variety of frilled fish, prawn, cockles, clams and oysters. The Seafood on Ice will also be featuring chilled Mud Crab, Blue Ocean Crab and Sri Lankan Crab. Even the Salad Bar has Caribbean Crab Salad, Crabmeat & Mango Salad and Kerabu Isi Ketam. Expect the soup of the day to be Crabmeat Soup while the Noodle station will feature Prawn and Crabmeat Noodles and Tomyam Crab Noodle Soup.
|Butter Meat Crab|
|Wok Fried Meat Crab with Salted Egg|
It was indeed an overload of wonderful crab dishes that night, beginning with the delectable Steamed Crab with Egg White followed by the Butter Meat Crab and the Wok Fried Meat Crab with Salted Egg. The Butter Meat Crab had this butter creaminess to it, which was good until the end, prompting some of us to literally suck it off the shell. Similarly, the heavy taste of the Wok Fried Meat Crab with Salted Egg left our taste buds yearning for more of the salted egg.
|Kam Heong Crab|
|Wok Fried Chilli Meat Crab|
Up next, both the Kam Heong Crab and the Wok Fried Chilli Meat Crab lived up to their name giving us two different unique flavours. The Kam Heong Crab tasted spicy, with lots of herbs taste, while the Wok Fried Chilli Meat Crab had this really thick sweet chilli sauce and taste to it. I liked the Kam Heong Crab probably because the flavouring reminded me of the chicken or pork version it.
|Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab|
Now I've always liked any Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab, making sure to order this dish whenever I'm at any Japanese restaurant or the likes. Here at Chatz Brasserie, Parkroyal KL, they serve one of the best I've had in recent times. I just love how the crispy bits goes well with the savoury tenderness of this dish, tasting great in the mouth when you chomp down on it, and no shells to break into!
|Wok-Fried Crab in Marmite Sauce|
|Sweet and Sour Meat Crab|
The Sweet and Sour Meat Crab went well with the accompanying mantao, to pick up all the yummy sauces. I found the Wok-Fried Crab in Marmite Sauce to have a unique and interesting flavour, with a marmite flavour and aroma, going well with the taste bud.
|Blue Flower Crab Masak Lemak Nenas|
|Fried Blue Flower Crab with Spices|
The two more 'exotic' crab dishes for the night had to be the Blue Flower Crab Masak Lemak Nenas and the Fried Blue Flower Crab with Spices. Each had its own distinct taste, with spices and herbs to tantalize your taste buds.
After all that crab, it's nice to note there are other dishes available too at the Weekend Seafood Buffet Dinner. Healthy steamed fish, more crustacean dishes like Baked Crab Pudding, Crab Aglio Olio and Baked Salmon Coulibiac available at the carvery station served with Crabmeat Cream Sauce.
