Just recently, I had the opportunity to meet up with the folks behind The Entertainer, an international Dubai-based company offering a portfolio of generous lifestyle centric discounts and promotions. Only now did they launch the Malaysia edition, which comes in a state of the art mobile app and a voucher book for the more conventional book method.

It was over a nice dinner at Bijan Restaurant that I met the good folks from The Entertainer. Introducing the book version, as well as the mobile app, I was pretty impressed by the numerous 'buy 1 free 1' offers in the book. Described as “Buy One Get One Free” incentive vouchers, The Entertainer marked its entry in Malaysia with a stellar list of over 825 offers from the city’s exclusive dining, leisure, wellness and entertainment venues. Included in this are also over 380 exclusive offers for Malaysia’s leading hotels such as Intercontinental Hotel Kuala Lumpur as well as relaxing propositions at The Slimming Sanctuary and Sothy’s.

The app is available for free download across all app stores (from iTunes, to Blackberry to Google Play to Samsung) with eight trial offers in Kuala Lumpur.  The full Entertainer Malaysia contains over RM 370,000 in savings and users can purchase either the book or mobile product depending on their preference – as each will contain 825 identical incentives – priced at RM235.

As an introductory offer, all users who purchase the full mobile product of offers will enjoy 40% off (RM145) for a limited time. Once purchased, the offers are immediately available to redeem, allowing customers to use them for fourteen months until December 2014.

Choose between the book or the smartphone app version of The Entertainer

Some key differences between The Entertainer and other group buying or discount websites out there are as spelt out below:

• All offers are valid for a year – in Malaysia for the launch, they will be valid for 14 months from 1st November 2013 through 30th December 2014.
• All offers are valid 7 days a week, excluding public holidays.
• Vouchers can be used in multiples – each merchant provides three buy one get one free offers which can be used at the same time.
• A maximum of four vouchers can be used for a party of eight.
• Vouchers can be used with no advance notice (excluding hotel accommodation and spas). Booking terms that would normally apply for any of our merchants would of course be observed.
