Mitsubishi Electric Folio JX / BX Refrigerator Soft Launch

Just last week, I had the opportunity to attend yet another cool and latest tech refrigerator launch from Mitsubishi. Check out my previous writeup on the Mitsubishi Electric L4 Grande previously. Anyway, this time around it was the Mitsubishi Folio JX and BX Series Refrigerators that were presented to us.

Held at Aloft Hotel, Mitsubishi Electric Sales Malaysia presented their latest range of Mitsubishi Electric Folio JX / BX Refrigerator featuring breakthrough design elements and sleek aesthetics. The new refrigerator by Mitsubishi Electric has a substantially increased capacity though the use of Smart Cube, a new slim heat-insulating structure which reduced thickness of doors and exterior panels while maintaining head insulation performances.

We were promptly ushered to our tables upon arrival, with the promise of good food, a detailed presentation and demonstration of the key features on the Mitsubishi Electric Folio JX / BX Refrigerator. Incorporating top notch features with advanced technology and convenience, it is ergonomically designed with these rather useful compact upright frost-free freezers with sliding drawers.

It then hit me that the reason the refrigerators were named Folio was probably due to the design of the drawer type compartment, similar to how you would store your office files. These compartments minimize cool air loss without compromising fresh and clean technology, usability and quality.

Mitsubishi Electric Folio JX / BX Refrigerator Soft Launch

Sitting through a short introduction by the enthusiastic MC, the Mitsubishi Electric Folio JX / BX Refrigerator was launched amicably by the top guns from Mitsubishi Electric. We were then shown some rather interesting demonstration on the refrigerators' capabilities. Some of the key features of the fridge include:

• Vitamin Factory
• Automatic Ice Maker
• Soft Freezing
• Anti-Bacterial Deodorizer
• Auto-shelf
• Non-CFC Refrigerant
• Smart Cube, a new slim heat insulating Structure

The meat from a conventional fridge is frozen like a stone

Demonstrating one of the key features of the Folio JX / BX refrigerator, namely the Supercool Freezing feature, we were shown the differences between meat stored in a conventional fridge versus the newly launched ones. The meat from a conventional fridge was so hard they were unable to chop through, while the meat from the Mitsubishi Folio fridge can be easily sliced and cut through without thawing.

"With conventional freezing, the process starts from the surface of the food. Supercool Freezing is different - it uniquely freezes food from the center point to all areas evenly. In this way, cell destruction of food is prevented to preserve its original fresh taste"

Another one of their interesting feature was the UV LED Crystal Ice-Maker. With the help of UV light, it kills the bacteria during the process of creating these ice crystals. The ice crystals produced takes longer to melt, yet gives the same amount of coldness.

We were told Mitsubishi refrigerators "Vitamin Factory" are the only refrigerator with LED sunlight that stimulates the food manufacturing process. It helps fruits and vegetables retain their moisture content longer. Improved vitality and vitamins would definately make for healthier consumption.

The JX and BX Folio Series Refrigerator comes in two glossy finishing colours, the Shiny Brown and Rose Champagne.
