Samsung Wind Chimes In A Bakery Finale Screening GSC Pavilion

For the past couple of weeks, I've been kind of hooked to this web series "Wind Chimes in a Bakery" and have been sharing the episodes on my Facebook. An emotionally-moving web series, it is a local love story inspired by Korean drama storytelling. Launched and presented by Samsung early last month, the web series has amassed more than 3.5 million views on its YouTube channel.

Earlier today, I had the opportunity to catch the final episode at GSC Pavilion, ahead of it's scheduled airing on Friday 30th August 2013. It was a rather nice reception, complete with makeshift bakery that looks almost the same as inside the web series. Now for a short introduction on the series itself.

Windchimes in a Bakery features Adam and Sue's love story - a boy with nothing but a dream and a girl with everything but love. Imbued with interesting twists, the story follows Adam's journey after a tragedy that took away the love of his life.

Check out the YouTube trailer for Wind Chimes in a Bakery below. From the YouTube Channel (www.youtube.com/user/SamsungMalaysia), you will be able to catch all the 7 episodes except the episode 8 finale which will be aired on 30 August 2013.

With Korean dramas gaining significant popularity in Malaysia, Samsung collaborated with Korean director, Jang Jae Hyeok, to better connect with Malaysians by giving this local production a unique Korean essense.

Coming back to the screening earlier today, all present were pretty hyped up to catch the finale of Windchimes in a Bakery to find out how it ends. The refreshment and buns did little to quench our hunger for the ending, but it had to suffice until they opened up the cinema doors.

The series is inspired by the Galaxy S4. With the positive responses we've had from Malaysians so far, Wind Chimes in a Bakery has become a weekly companion in touching people's lives," said Vincent Chong, Head of Mobile Phone Division, Samsung Malaysia Electronics.

Jang Jae Hyeok, the Korean director of the series was ecstatic that Wind Chimes in a Bakery was well-received by Malaysians. "It is encouraging to see the Korean art of storytelling through drama being applied in a Malaysian context and being so well-received by Malaysians", he said.
