Pantai Cahaya Negeri Port Dickson - Beach Getaway

Sometimes when life gives you the "thumbs down" and everything seems to be so hectic and chaotic, it is good to just head to the nearest beach for that much-needed "time out". Well, I had that exact same feeling the last week or so, and it would have been awesome if I could head back to Batu Ferringhi Beach in Penang. I headed to the next best spot, Pantai Cahaya Negeri in Port Dickson.

Pantai Cahaya Negeri is a popular beachside destination between 5th and 6th mile of Port Dickson, served by a considerable number of resorts, hotels and apartments perched along its coastal strip. Some claim this to be PD's best beach - balancing natural beauty, tranquility and public facilities. The sea waters here are also quite clean, reflecting bluish green with good visibility.

Meanwhile, the soft, powdery sand here is notably inviting, gleaming white when lit by the afternoon sun. A recreational park occupies a small cape at the eastern edge, with panoramic views of sea along its perimeter, and a wooden bridge that leads to a small mangrove island (Pulau Burung) off the coast.

It wasn't my first time here, in fact it was only my second time over to this beach in Port Dickson. The first time I entered this vicinity was before I got married, where we had our pre-wedding photoshoot here. Well, this time I was there just to take some time off and listen to the waves crashing in. It was indeed relaxing to say the least.

Now as I was sitting on one of the benches along the beach, I did appreciate the fact that Pantai Cahaya Negeri Port Dickson was indeed way cleaner than the Batu Ferringhi beach in Penang. Don't take my word for it, come here and experience it for yourself. Probably this was due to lesser human crowd at this beach.

Looking out towards the sea, my eyes caught up with the very familiar wooden bridge. Now this bridge has been used countless times by pre-wedding photographers for their shots, mine included. It did bring back memories. Back then in 2011, the shooting was very rushed hence we could not really appreciate the beauty of the Pantai Cahaya Negeri Port Dickson.

How time flies, it's 2013 now, and I'm not only married, but have been blessed with a beautiful kid and family. That's what I think of every time life decides to give me the "thumbs down". Negative vibes begone! Oh before I end this post, do check out some of the "old" photos I managed to dig out of my pre-wedding shots at this same wooden bridge in 2011. Pantai Cahaya Negeri Port Dickson, please stay beautiful!
