Just a couple of days back I did a post on the upcoming Malaysian Invasion Mixed Martial Arts (MIMMA) (Malaysian Invasion Mixed Martial Arts (MIMMA) Coming To Town). Well, last night to the delight of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) enthusiasts, the MIMMA announced that all their fights will be shown on air, made in Malaysia especially for Malaysians.

Malaysian Invasion Viewing Party
Venue: The Social, Publika
Date: 15 May 2013
Time: 7.30pm till late
|An invitation to catch the first programme lineup of Malaysian Invasion|
So there I was at The Social, Publika last night to catch the first episode of Malaysian Invasion at the viewing party specially held a couple of hours before the actual episode. This meant we got to catch it at 9pm instead of the 11pm slot on Astro Channel 813. It was all good though, as there were beers all round coupled with very filling sausages, and finger food.

Filmed in Malaysia, mainly at Paradigm Mall, the programme is based on a format created by the creators of MyTeam, Jason Lo, and YB Khairy Jamaluddin. The idea was to have amateur fighters from all over Malaysia come for tryouts and finally be crowned as Malaysian Invasion Mixed Martial Arts FC (MIMMA FC) champions.

Offering cash prizes totalling RM150k, MIMMA FC is the first professionally managed all Malaysian amateur fighting championship. The try-outs held earlier in February itself had garnered a large participation of 500 fighters registering for a chance to show off their skills in the cage. It was indeed a lifetime opportunity for amateur fighters who wanted to advance to the next stage in MIMMA, and then forth to be professional fighters.
Aired starting 15 May 2015 on Star Sports, Astro Channel 813, there will be 6 exciting episodes that should not be missed. Do catch it on TV, or if you're really keen, get the tickets for the live shows! Check back on my previous writeup on how to clinch free tickets from ChurpChurp.
