Bad Boy Cooks @ Oasis Ara Damansara

Bad Boy Cooks, now that's a pretty catchy name, especially when the tagline for this restaurant is "Bad Boy Cooks Real Food". It was my first time over to this eatery, as well as my first time to the pretty Oasis Ara Damansara area. The whole area looks real serene with the man made lake and all.

The rather pretty surrounding
The rather pretty surrounding

Bad Boy Cooks is a relatively new eatery, with a rather huge lunch crowd on that day when a couple of friends and I dropped by for lunch. I did like the way the buildings in Oasis Ara Damansara were constructed, each on it's own with a scenic watery view.

Glancing over the menu, the food choices were predominantly western fare, with salads , burgers and pastas being the alternative to western main dishes. The menu at Bad Boy Cooks was pretty simple, and yet it took us a while to order, probably due to the fonts and colours used which were a tad confusing. Anyway check out below on what we had that afternoon.

#1 Al Funghi Pasta - RM9
#1 Al Funghi Pasta - RM9

The Al Funghi Pasta was pretty good, served in thick carbonara sauce with a generous amount of mushrooms and cheese. It was creamy enough, yet not too thick and went well with my sweet Chocolate Milkshake. If it were up to me however, I would have ordered their other pastas with meat inside.

#3 Minute Steak - RM16
#3 Minute Steak - RM16

When I saw that Bad Boy Cooks had steak on their menu, coupled with the rather affordable price of RM16, I immediately went for it. The servings weren't exactly large, even though the beef strips came in 2 pieces. So that's why they named it Minute Steak, I thought to myself. Served "medium rare" with accompanying creamy mushroom sauce, I did like my steak. It just was not enough though.

Thumbs up for my first dining experience here (with Daniel from room8five.com)

Overall, I did not try out enough of Bad Boy Cooks offerings to give a thorough review, but from the steak and pasta that I had, I was pretty satisfied with the taste. The service wasn't too efficient though, as I could see many staffs, but they weren't very attentive to the customers' needs. Do drop by this new spot should you be in the vicinity of Ara Damansara.

  1. Aren't they bloggers? They've opened their own restaurant now? Or have they been in the business already even when they were blogging?
