Chilla Cup SetiaWalk Puchong

Now I've been to a few other branches of Chilla Cup recently, one of them being Chilla Cup Solaris Mont Kiara and the other one was their branch at Subang Avenue. This time around, I was there at Chilla Cup Setia Walk in Puchong to catch the prize giving session for one of their online photography contest as well as try out their latest menu.

So I heard there was a "My Coffee Moments" photography contest organized by Chilla Cup on their FB page, and today was the prize giving ceremony. Of course, since I did not join it, nor stand a chance to be one of the winners, I just sat by the sidelines watching the grand prize winner take home a brand new Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Yes, a sharp tinge of jealousy hit me, but then when I saw the photograph he took, well it was pretty cool.

Moving along, we were then promptly welcomed and seated all ready to try out Chilla Cup's new food offerings. There were only 6 of us bloggers and friends that afternoon, so it was a close knit affair, one which I appreciated since I felt more comfortable in small groups of people.

#1 Mushroom Soup - RM7.50

#2 Garlic Soup
#2 Garlic Soup

The first two dishes were the soups, one being Chilla Cup's mushroom soup and the other the Garlic Soup. Now I've tried their mushroom soup before and I must say it had a whole lot of mushroom in it. As for the garlic soup, it was my first time trying it, and I couldn't really get use to the pungent garlic taste of it. It was good to dip our toasted bread in though.

#3 Ham and Sweet Corn Tortillas - RM13.90
#3 Ham and Sweet Corn Tortillas - RM13.90

I did not know they made tortillas this big, nor this unique. We had Chilla Cup's piping hot Ham and Sweet Corn Tortillas which comprised of basically pizza material with the bulk of it being sweet corn, ham and loads of cheese. Love the thin crust, the cheese and ham did go well with the sweet corn albeit having this unique sweet taste.

#4 Pan Fried Fish Fillet with Couscous
#4 Pan Fried Fish Fillet with Couscous- RM16.90

Up next was this new dish on Chilla Cup's menu, the Pan Fried Fish Fillet with Couscous. So what exactly is this thing called Couscous. Well to me basically it tastes like rice, yet it was made up of these tiny grains much smaller than our typical rice. Looked up the net, and I was educated on what couscous is, being this Maghrebian dish of semolina (purified wheat middlings of durum wheat). I did like the fish fillet even though the couscous needed some getting use to.

#5 Grilled Chicken - RM16.90
#5 Montreal Spiced Chicken - RM16.90

Ah, chicken for the masses, here we have Chilla Cup's Montreal Grilled Spice Chicken, served on a bed of veggies with their own special brown sauce. It had these spices on top, which added on to the overall taste of this dish. I did like the chicken as it was really tender, but the sauce was a tad too salty though.

#6 Caramel Butter Thick Toasts - RM8.50

#7 Apple Cinnamon Ice Cream Thick Toast
#7 Apple Cinnamon Ice Cream Thick Toast

We ended our meal with these two sinfully sweet desserts, namely the Caramel Butter Thick Toasts and the Apple Cinnamon Ice Cream Thick Toast. The caramel was really thick with lots of foamy cream, but what I really liked was the really crispy thick toasts which had this butter flavour to it. Have it with ice cream, and we're good to go. I was told, some diners actually ordered these for breakfast at Chilla Cup.

Anyway do check out Chilla Cup's latest lunch and dinner set meals which includes the garlic soup, beverages and the main course which is a choice of their Montreal Spiced Chicken, Pan-fry Fish Fillet with Couscous or the Ham & Sweet Corn Tortilla.
