Wrath Of The Titans (2012)

Wrath of The Titans, the sequel to the 2010 Clash of The Titans had one of it's premiere screening in Malaysia over at TGV Sunway Pyramid. I was lucky to clinch some premiere tickets courtesy of Nuffnang, and like most folks, was excited to catch this movie. I rather liked the original, and with this sequel coming down with lots of action, it did not disappoint much.

Braving the traffic jam, reaching the venue just in time to meet up for a short chilling session with friends, I was rather excited when it was time to start the movie. Wrath Of The Titans is set 10 years after our hero Perseus (Sam Worthington), the son of Zeus killed off the monster Kraken and am a happily retired fisherman with his kid, Helius. Of course, if he were to stay a fisherman, there wouldn't be a movie right?

It seems as the humans pray less to the Gods, the powers of the Gods weaken as well, paving the way for Kronos, father of the ruling Gods to awaken and return more powerful than ever. We see the three Gods Zeus (Liam Neeson), Hades (Ralph Fiennes), and Poseidon (Danny Huston) going against each other with Hades and Ares (Édgar Ramírez) working together to free Kronos.

Kronos has long been imprisoned in this huge dungeon called Tartarus all this while, until Hades and Ares decided to make a deal with the devil and unleash him. The Titans' strength grew as Zeus's remaining godly powers were literally sucked out, and hell was unleashed on earth by Kronos.

Perseus himself had to join in the battle as the Gods were on the brink of extinction. Together with the warrior Queen Andromeda (Rosamund Pike), Perseus goes to hell literally to save his father Zeus. It's another epic good versus evil setting here as we see Perseus representing the goodness in men and God while Kronos goes on a rampage for destruction of mankind.

Overall, for all the anticipation I put in after watching the trailers, Wrath of The Titans was an okay movie. It had lots of action, and I love any movie that looks and feels like "300". A few scenes were rather uncalled for though, with too much references to father-son love, father-son relationship, father-son bonding. I rather liked Hades and Ares more than the hero Perseus and Zeus himself.

The movie itself was lacking to really engage the audience in its story, but rather just brought us on a ride of action and lots of fist punching. Janice likes the movie though, and personally I'll give this a 6/10. Most people will go and watch the movie anyway after watching the rather cool trailer, check it out below.

Should He Get A Second Chance?

If you've checked out my past blog posts (Don't Wait To Make That Call and BF is A Serial Cheater?), this would be another variant of those videos. This round out of the latest three videos shown here, I've chosen one which I found rather interesting titled "Is He Buying Jewelry For Another Girl?"

The girl is unsure whether her boyfriend really did cheat on her, while the guy has this puzzled look to his face. The new video shows the girl "catching" her boyfriend with another girl but there's always two sides to a story. He might be showing a friend the jewelry, or probably that's his long lost cousin. What do you think?
