Igentis Tropicana City Mall

The other day I was at Tropicana City Mall to catch the premiere screening of The Descendants when I dropped by this simple restaurant just beside the cinema on the 2nd floor. The name itself intrigued me, Igentis with the mandarin words which roughly translates to "Ice Shop" if I'm not mistaken. I did see more food dishes than desserts here though, which got me confused for a moment.

Diners that night at Igentis

Igentis Tropicana City Mall was located just a couple of metres away from the cinema, hence it was packed with diners when I was there. The location was pretty strategic if you ask me. The eatery itself had this rather colourful ambiance from the wallpapers to the restaurant menu.

As the movie was going to start soon, we just went for a quick meal for two ordering Igentis' Herbal Chicken Soup with Rice and the Bittergourd Fish Bee Hoon. Check out what we had that night.

Herbal Chicken with Rice
#1 Herbal Chicken with Rice - RM10.90

My Herbal Chicken Soup wasn't bad, with a strong herbal taste in it. Of course it wasn't the best that I have tasted, but with enough herbal ingredients and a huge piece of chicken inside, I'm contented with my order. It came with one bowl of rice, which I couldn't finish though.

Bittergourd Fish Bee Hoon Soup
#2 Bittergourd & Fish Bee Hoon Soup - RM8.90

Personally, I'm not a big fan of bittergourds for the simple reason that they're bitter. However the Bittergourd & Fish Bee Hoon Soup came with a really nice fragrant. It was Janice's dish, but I did try a bit, and it tasted really good. The bittergourds brought out the taste of the soup complemented by pieces of fish, and vegetables.

Overall, Igentis at Tropicana City Mall served rather good dishes and should be doing rather well with its strategic location just next to the cinema. I did not however try their bubble tea that evening, which I heard was Igentis' signature dessert. Probably next round when I find myself catching a movie again in Tropicana CIty Mall.
