In celebration of the Global Smurfs Day on the 25th June 2011, Sony Pictures Malaysia hosted a special Happy Smurfs Day event over at Ikano Power Centre which coincided with the 2011 Movie Carnival Event. Now who doesn't love those little men in blue, and come this September 1st, the all new Smurfs movie will be out in our cinemas!

Members of the media and special guests were invited through a special invitation card to unveil the "Smurftastic Surprise"! Thanks to Nuffnang, I was invited for this event. What was the surprise? Hundreds of plastic Smurfs, just 20cm high were found scattered everywhere on the ground floor of Ikano Power Centre.They were literally everywhere, cool blueness all over.

During the event, Carmen Phua, the marketing manager of Sony Pictures Releasing International (Malaysia) launched the "Smurf-O-Graphy" contest together with the costumed characters depicting Papa Smurf, Smurfette and Clumsy. The contest runs from 7th - 19th June 2011, where contestants are invited to submit their most creative photo with the Smurfs costume characters during their appearances at selected times at Ikano Power Centre.

To stand a chance to win a 46" Sony Bravia LCD TV in the Smurf-O-Graphy contest, contestants have to submit their photo with a slogan 'Why would you like to watch The Smurfs in cinemas'. Send an email with subject "Smurf-O-Graphy contest" to sonypicturesmalaysia@gmail.com or via post to c/o P.O Box 8318, Pejabat Pos Kelana Jaya, 46786 Petaling Jaya.

At the end of the event, we were treated to some really nice looking smurfs cupcakes. I actually skipped eating my cupcake because it was too cute to eat them. Those that ate those 3D cupcakes had to munch off the head first, and it was pretty gruesome, having a headless smurf. Check out the pictures below.

ReplyDeleteIt took me awhile to finish the cupcakes.. Altho the fondant is not too sweet like some cupcakes but the smurfs is a little too big! Haha.. Sayang tho when I beheaded my smurf.. :( Anyways, should make your blog post as an example so that I can write one of my own soon.. Hehe
